Diet and Workout Routines

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Went back at the Texas Method today, taking that week off did wonders. I felt fresh and motivated the whole way through, having the pump afterwards was an amazing feeling haha. I also cheated on my diet big time thurs/friday so the diet motivation is back in full force too.

I come to you now, workout gods, and thank you for the creation of yoga pants.

They are more motivation to go to the gym than health and preworkout drinks combined.

Keep doin' it ladies.

I wonder if anyone here does Paleo/Primal?

I've been Primal for a year now and my health could not be better, seriously. I also started doing HIIT training the past couple of months with great results.

my buddy went primal our first year of college, he was in really great shape (he was a health nut prior to going primal). now he smokes cigarettes. true story

Even without training I lost weight eating primal, without counting calories and shit.
I've had my cheats now and then (like for my gf's birthday I'm not gonna sit at the table in the restaurant being picky about food. We're going all out lol), but other that it's not even hard to maintain.

I don't have any problem with the paleo primal eating apart form the name. It wasn't even accurate. Just call it the meat and veg diet. The scientific inaccuracies with it are huge, but I suppose it's all linked to this idea of indigenous species etc.. All nonsense

The whole paleolithic thing is just a gimmick, frankly.
But the science behind it is sound. I won't go into details because it's a HUGE discussion and will ruin this thread.
But in regards to the science behind the nutrition (rather than the anthropological and paleonthological inaccuracies) is pretty sound and is getting more and more press. (To the point where the FDA changed their cholesterol recommendations, acknowledging that they were wrong when they set them in the '70s).

But that's all I will say on this specific topic because it will never end if we begin.
Just want to know if there are other Paleo or Primal guys/gals here.

I eat paleo except I allow for the cheat meal to include some of the no no stuff. I have found the adjustment to really not be all that bad because most foods can be adjusted to be paleo friendly.

Yep.
I found the adjustment very easy too. I basically eat shit I love as it is without worrying too much and just stay away from the no no stuff.

How long have you been eating paleo? Results?

Anyone have any good uses for kale? I've been scrambling it with eggs, peppers, and a little ham for breakfast. It's amazing. Wanna try and incorporate it into my diet more.

When I have been strict on it really before my back injury, I dropped from around a significant amount of body fat. I think the high fat content keeps you full longer thus lowering the chance you snack/break your diet.

I've been back to total clean eating for a few weeks now and I can already feel the difference in my energy levels.

I mix it with a little lime juice, olive oil, red onion, cumin and chili powder and eat it like a salad or I put it on burritos (chicken and bean).

Sounds great, definitely gonna give that a try.

Kale chips.

Cut the stems and tear leaves into big pieces. Wash & FULLY dry. lightly coat with oil (I use a basting brush thing, the rubbery-type thing that kind of looks like a broom) and some seasoning, whatever yo ulike, and bake.

Let cool for a few minutes and eat.

Only problem with these bastards are they don't stay crispy long. So it's kind of a bake-and-eat type meal. Maybe if you are grilling out burgers or doing some kind of healthier sandwiches with someone/group you can do it.

It's a decent amount of work/time for something that won't last overnight, but they are good.
