Yeah, Dion must go! Even though he's only been seeing around 20 minutes for the past 5 games he needs to be traded! He's obviously the one holding this team back at this point...

Do you realize how ridiculous this sounds? Has Dion been playing well so far? Hell no. Not even close to what he's capable of. But if you think Dion is one of the major problems facing this team right now then you are a fool. This team has much more pressing concerns than "Dion Waiters".

It doesn't matter how ridiculous it sounds. Dion is not a high basketball IQ player, and that is going to hold back the team. He simply can't seem to stop himself from taking bad shots. That won't work against teams like San Antonio.

Windhorst said basically the same thing about Dion. He tries really hard to get it right, but once you get him out on the court it all goes out the window.

Dion takes, at minimum, one "Why are you shooting that?!?" shot per game, if not per rotation. That's just not going to work on a team that has a Big 3 that needs more touches, not less.

I like Dion and I wish him well. But if this team is going to contend in the near future, with this system, it needs more players who will stay within their roles and move the ball.

Sounds like your plan for failure of a plan. Every player takes a "wtf" shot every game. Dion is pressing even on his makeable shots. Blatt needs to remedy the situation.

And actually if you noticed, our bench as a whole has played poorly for quite some time now. Not just Dion. Furthermore, Love has played poorly and LeBron has been pouting and complaining and playing very lazy and nonchalant basketball since the season started too. But let's just pile on Dion because....well he's Dion and he's obviously the root of all of our problems.

LeBron definitely called it before the season started. Dion Waiters, the guy only seeing 24 minutes per game, is being made the scapegoat. Ridiculous.

Dion isn't playing 24 mins a game because of some minutes restriction. I'm sure Blatt would love to play him 30+ mins a game, but every game Dion comes in and jacks up ill advised shots, drives to the hole only to throw up some terrible shot and scream for a foul, or plays awful defense.

Blatt gets tired of seeing that shit and so he yanks him for somebody else.

Since his rookie year I thought that he needed to eliminate his go to move which is that step back jumper even when he doesn't even need the separation , its just not an high percentage shot but he refuses to do so. The step back is usually used during times when a player is attempting to drive and has the defender off balance. Dion literally dribbles in place and then shoots a step back and he shoots the worse kind where he is basically right inside the 3 pt line.

Dion isn't a good enough player to take those shots and have it be ok. LeBron is. Kyrie is.

This team is short on experience (from its younger guys) and basketball IQ at the moment. I personally like Dion, but I like the team better.

Blatt cannot stop Dion from shooting the ball. Blatt put Dion on the bench. That hasn't helped.

At some point, if we really want to contend, we're going to have to make some tough choices with personnel. We need more talent, and we need talent that fits the system.

If Dion started playing in a good way beginning tonight, I'd be thrilled. Do I think that will happen? No. We're 5-6 now. I'd like to stop the bleeding sooner rather than later.

That said, as Windy pointed out yesterday, probably no deals will take place until Dec 15 because that is when newly signed players can be dealt, I think.

Offer Dion,Love,Andy and Kyrie to Sacramento for Cousins,Ben and Collison. We win the East.

Some good points here. Think back to when Griff was talking about this team when he took over.

Fit.

Fit is ridiculously important and a lot of people overlook the extreme value that correct matching parts gives to a club.

It is painfully obvious to anyone that watches our team that we are 1.) small, and 2.) need a rim protector.

Moving Dion and the haywood contract for a long and athletic wing defender, and a tall rim protector brings incredible value to this team and opens up for everyone to play their correct role.

A lot of people look at a trade as apples to apples, sometimes moving a guy you perceive to be the better player (even though I think Dion is very overrated) for two role playing pieces will be an incredible boon to the team just based on chemistry and the way the pieces fit.

Dion is simply a round peg trying to fit in a square hole. The apologists can make whatever rationalization they want, but after watching him for 3 years it is painfully obvious that as good as his heart is, his career will likely be nothing more than a gunner for a shit tier team that gets him some spotlight and money.

One thing is for certain. When the dust clears the "AYEEEEEE" meme will live on.

Dion gives me a headache thinking about him... He always has the same problems every single season, yet they are correctable. This dude can be good, but he will not change. He still pouts, still has a bad attitude at times, won't change his game to help the team.

Dion is a young man growing up... He'll get it eventually...

Hell, consider all the points you just made bro.. with all of that, being benched, then back in the starting lineup, etc etc, he still put up almost identical stats to Brad Beal who many consider an up and coming star.

It's ridiculous to write-off Waiters at this point in his career when we have him on a rookie contract.

Let's develop our talent, for once, ya know.

This is nothing against Dion, his talent or his abilities...but I think this team would be better off if we traded him for a productive veteran defender. Same goes with Tristan. I'm of the belief that if we fix the defense, we have more than enough offense options to make that work with what we have.

We'll be fine when the coach trusts him unconditionally and gives him a large and constant role for the betterment of the team after shuffling him with seemingly better fitting and more likable/mature but much lesso talented players.

Same thing happens every year.
