Defensive energy in the second half was exactly what we need out of him. I just wish he'd stop chucking.

It's good to see Waiters lead the team in shot attempts tonight. A well deserved reward for the Cavs most under-appreciated bricklayer.

Loved what I saw from Dion tonight.

He's starting to accept his role.

He played well, but he chucked a lot of shots. They need him to start playing more efficiently. To be fair, he had some good open looks that he missed, but at the same time, he needs to stop rushing some of his shots. There were at least two fast breaks where he tried to scored with two defenders who tried to crowd him, but he had no intention of giving the ball up.

He also had 6 assists (second most on the team) and 3 steals, so he was contributing in other ways. I'm not even a huge fan of Dion the player, but seriously, don't just ignore the good and focus on the negatives when he was taking most of his shots within the flow of the offense.

Step in the right direction from him tonight. Definitely think that Blatt making him the first player off the bench played a role in his positive attitude tonight. He was engaged and played with purpose and when he does that he definitely plays a big role on this team.

Great defense. 6 assists was cool. Shot selection was pretty bad and his shot was off but he'll come along in that respect with time. Overall good game from him tonight. Could still improve a lot but this is the type of game Dion needs to play on a consistent basis (minus the couple bad shots).

Six assists, three steals, one turnover.

He was 1-6 in the fourth quarter, when the game was all but over.

He played extremely well when he was on the floor during meaningful periods.

So, it's acceptable for Waiters to lead the team in shot attempts (more attempts than LeBron, Kyrie, & Love) when his shot is clearly off, just as long as he plays well in other areas? Interesting, but I'm going to disagree with you.

I like my idea better:

Put a cap on Waiters shot attempts except during heat checks. Why? He's extremely inefficient and doesn't help the Cavs at all with his scoring. Let Waiters contribute in other ways, as you said, but leave the scoring to the actual scorers.

Again, Dion was at 50% shooting until garbage time

Today was a big day in my eyes in the direction of Dion understanding his role on the team. And give his shot attempts a little bit of a break. He had to shoot a couple at the end of the shot clock being put in a bad position, and he got up shots when the game was already in garbage time. But this is what I said about Dion in the game thread:

Dion looked good. He wasn't perfect, but he gave us what we needed. Energy, effort, and aggressiveness. He attacked and scored the ball, which is what we have been needing out of him. His defense was very good as well. Sure, he missed some easy open shots, took some questionable shots, and missed some shots he should have easily finished at the rim. And took some fadeaways that really didn't need to be fadeaways (the main criticism I have for him). But he still made plays and I'll take that aggressiveness over being passive every time. Clearly Dion's mistakes didn't effect the game at all. We won by a ton. This just confirmed to me that we can't turn him into a spot up shooter. We have to let Dion be Dion. I loved how he played tonight.

Dion's feet are like this when he takes jump shots.

was furious watching him tonight.. just shot selection and finishing.. but then i remembered we just want defensive from him and points from the bench.

he provided good d and consistent effort, and more than half of our bench points.

Just finish your damn shots man.

How can anyone have a problem with how Dion played tonight after the horrible couple of games he just had. Played good defense, passed well, and he hit some shots. You look at his shot attempts and think he was chucking but most of those were in the 4th quarter, and it was garbage time
