Hello,
What do you guys think of trading Waiters for K.J Mcdaniels?
I love this guy, good defender and has alot of potential

I was a huge KJ fan going into the draft. Actually wanted the Cavs to take him with their pick before they won the lottery. On the downside since he slipped to 2nd round he only signed a 1 year contract and will be a restricted free agent next summer.
As for Dion he just looks very discouraged esp at the end of games out there with scrubs. He's a talented kid but his style of play isn't everyone's flavor. It's been a struggle to get the big 3 to gel let alone the role players. Even a vet like Mike Miller still hasn't found his way yet on this team. At this point I'm just hoping the team starts to win consistently and Dion eventually falls into his role.
One guy I am thinking of, in part because the Cavs just played Indy, is CJ Miles
I would trade Dion for Miles all day long.
I understand the feeling, but if the Cavs wanted CJ Miles over Waiters, they would have traded Waiters for cap space and kept CJ last summer. I don't think that much has changed in the past few months.
I think it would take a pretty good offer to make the Cavs give up on Dion right now, and those kind of offers seem less likely to arrive when Dion is in the dumps. Once the starters are functioning, the team will spend more time on Dion and get stuff worked out.
I think this is helpful.
Lebron and Kyrie don't mesh-they worked on it.
Kevin Love doesn't look like himself-getting more touches down low and looking more comfy.
The defense sucks-defense is looking better and better and the Cavs are using it to control the pace.
I'm seeing a pattern here. Blatt has been doing his job and figuring things out step by step. I'm gonna trust him on this too. I see Dion stopping his complaining to the refs as a baby step toward becoming a really good team long-term.
The thought of taking Miles over Waiters is kind of mind-boggling. I mean, talk about a streak shooter...
David Blatt-The CAVs, in my opinion, aren't in a rush to "resolve" the issues with Dion, and as you allude to are willing to let the situation play itself out. Blatt is systematically building this team, and with what looks like LBJ and KI being on the same page, with KL slowly finding a role, Marion/Any/TT filling in it appears to be working.
The issue with Dion is does HE want to settle into a role with this team, which is a defensive orientated guard who will get about 10 shots or less a game? If the answer is yes, he has a greater chance at being on the roster in March.
The interesting part is even if he does settle into a role, if the right trade situation arises they may move him anyway.
At this point he certainly isn't a vital piece of the team going forward. Comparing him to how Kyrie is playing of late, and how he is buying in, illustrates how far Dion has to come in the immediate future.
