I've often been very hard on Dion, but he deserves some props. He's been ballin lately.

What's most impressive about Dion is this jumpshot he's developing. That shit was Kobeesque the other night. He's got a high release, and when he's not thinking and just letting muscle memory steer his jumper, he's impressive.

Most frustrating: He's still not a great finisher at the basket. He's got an elite first step, he's too worried about drawing fouls, he needs to be more worried about sinking the shot.

If one day Dion can start converting difficult shots like Kyrie, and Dion also keeps this newfound jumper, Dion will be on another level. Hope he does.

Man if he'd just stop yelling altogether, and just force the contact the officials will be forced to call it. He annoys them by yelling every single time. Gotta choose your spots.

So if all of these moves were Gilberts, what the fuck did Grant do? Should've been fired for not doing anything.

Seriously, from what I'm reading, every bad move was Gilbert's and the only one I've seen credited to Grant was Hawes, which happened after he was fired.

Can someone make me a list of who is responsible for what?

One I hear was Gilbert was responsible for the Deng trade. Well maybe he should be our GM because it was plain as day we needed a SF, he got him for nothing even if it's a rental, and we all thought it was an awesome signing when it happened. Who knew his wheels fell off?

So I wanted to see Dions awesome game winner so I decided to YouTube it earlier. I found that the official NBA YouTube channel another version of Dions game winner, and also one of the most shamelessly hilarious pieces of advertisement I've ever seen. "taco bell buzzer beater"

The only big mistake Grant made was the Brown hire, in my opinion. And honestly, MB should've been the fall guy. But Gilbert knows he looks like a huge idiot if he rehires a coach he had already fired and then fires him again in a few months. So unfortunately, Grant had to be the one to go. Really sucks though, I think CG is a phenomenal GM. Seems like most of the complaints I ever had about him were all on the owner. It's a shame really.

From everything I've read, it sounds like Gilbert was primarily behind the Bynum and Jack signings, one of which was disastrous and the other was a terrible fit. I'd imagine Gilbert was also the driving force behind the Deng acquisition, because he clearly wanted to win now, but I'd assume Grant was the one who actually negotiated the deal.

As far as Hawes goes, it's been said that the deal was on the table as a potential fallback deal for a while, and the team only decided to take it when they couldn't find anything better. So yes, Grant negotiated that deal and Griffin just pulled the trigger when nothing else popped up.

Regardless, it's a little pointless now. Grant is gone and it's unlikely he'll be back (at least for three or four years, right?).

This guy deserves some credit after a tumultuous start to the season. 22.0 points and 5.1 assists with Kyrie out. He's showing maturity, leadership, an ability to learn from past mistakes. I bash Mike Brown a lot but he seems to be getting somewhere with Dion when it comes to player development. Waiters wants to win and plays with a chip on his shoulder and although he still has a ways to go, he is proving to me that he was more than worthy of where he was picked in the draft. Can't wait to see what another off-season equates to for him with regard to his development. Would love to somehow slip into the playoffs and get him and the rest of the team some really meaningful experience against top flight competition. Easily my favorite player on the team right now. It's possible that I root for the guy that might be a little rough around the edges and fiery. I was big on Delonte West and he was 1000 times the headcase that Dion is. I want players on this team that seek to bury the competition 6 feet below the hardwood.

I think Dion needed this time as Alpha Dog. Now we all know he can do it, so he has probably gained a TON of respect in the locker room and around the league. Not many players are asked to do what he is doing at this age.

I just really hope that, when Kyrie gets back, Brown doesn't immediately revert back to playing him the inconsistent minutes he was giving him all season prior to Kyrie's injury. This kid needs to continue to get thirty-plus every night so he can continue to grow as a leader and develop as a player.

I'll be shocked if Dion gets moved back to the bench. Brown has seen that Dion has been the team's best player, by far, in this recent stretch.

You vastly overestimate Mike Brown. It would break his heart to see Jarrett Jack on the bench more than a few minutes.

Any better gifs of Dion's buzzer beater than this one?

Looking for a better angle that's not so zoned out

OG rep for whoever finds one

I love seeing the anguish of fans in the background when someone from Cleveland does it :chuckles:

Dion averages more minutes per game than Jack on the season. Dion averages 29.4 minutes, Jack averages 28.2

Dion was also averaging more minutes than Jack when everyone was healthy. The only reason Jack is playing 30+ minutes a game currently is the injuries to Miles and KI. If not for those injuries Jack would be in the 23-28 minute range that he has been at all season.

But lets not look at facts before posting, lets just do the lazy thing and scapegoat Mike Brown again because hey it's easy and doesn't require any original thought or research.

The fact that Dion averages only 1 more mpg than Jack is a big problem in itself. Dion should've been playing just as many minutes as Kyrie but he wasn't and that is on Mike Brown. Just because we're winning now with Dion leading the way doesn't mean I've forgotten. I'm confident that had we never played with Dion's minutes throughout the entire year we'd be sitting pretty with the 8th seed right now, maybe better.

Also the bolded is false.

Jarrett Jack regularly received more playing time than Dion Waiters did. Dion's playing time varied from game to game before Kyrie got hurt. Just a couple weeks ago he saw 14 and then 18 minutes back to back. What the hell? You can't coach people like that. Mike Brown's rotations vary depending on what type of day he's having. He just does whatever he feels like at the expense of the players. You can't play well when you don't know your role or even when you don't know when you'll see the court. All the flack he gets is well deserved.

#NeverForget :chuckles:

Again, do you read the board and listen to what some of the insiders have said on this topic. You are making so many assumptions that you have no way of backing them up. The argument has been made, is that MB was making Dion earn his mins, if he had a bad practice, did not give effort, then he did not get mins. Stop comparing how MB handles Dion and Jack, they are two different players and are in different points of their career. The idea that all should be created equal is BS, in a sport where the players are making million of $. How can you argue with MB approach, after seeing what Dion is doing now. Instead of second guessing, enjoy what Dion is doing now, and the growth he has had over the year. There is no possable way to argue or prove that Dion would be the player he is now, had he been given more mins throughout the year.
