Dream Team 4: Golden State Warriors

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Watching the game on league pass. It is the Hornets feed. Was really glad didn't have to have the Warriors announcers.

But wait, it is Dell Curry night in Charlotte. And as soon as I turned it on Steph was interviewing Dell

I basically leaped across the room and did this weird spin in the air to get to the controller that controls the volume of the TV. Never muted a TV faster in my life.

Even if a team like Golden State manages to reach the top again with a gaudy record and incredible performance (etc.), it doesn't guarantee their victory without adversity. It doesn't happen often, but it is possible. We won 66 games in 2009, but proved to be flawed once they felt a real challenge. The Mavericks won 67 games in 2007, but there was talk even before the playoffs that Golden State could beat them (being the only team to sweep the Mavs that season). The Boston Celtics, winning 68 games in 1973, romped through the season, but against a team that had won it all before with REAL adversity (does Willis Reed ring a bell?), they just couldn't step up once a guy like Havlicek was hurt.

In terms of teams with historic winning streaks, I see a silver lining there too. I remember the Rockets in 2008 looking like world beaters, but most of the world also felt it was just hot gas rather than fuel (pun intended).

Maybe I'm just optimistic, but in the Cavs case, dealing with adversity now and throughout the season will make them that much better even if the Warriors get through the season easily enough.

Or they end up becoming a dynasty like the Bulls with us being the anti-foil like the Jazz. :dunno:

Just in time for the warriors, Al Jefferson is hurt.

I'm going to be the guy that will always defend that 2008 Rockets team. They looked like world beaters with Yao Ming. He was playing for the large majority of that win streak. He got hurt near the end and didn't play the rest of the season. They are just not a good example of a regular season team that couldn't handle the playoff grind. They lost their best player.

Me, I think tonya Harding has a place on the cavs payroll.....

The warriors are a great team but they have played a weak schedule in all honesty.

Meanwhile the Cavs are losing at home by double digits to a team under .500 that might go ahead and lose to the damn Lakers tonight. We've got no room to talk right now.
I'm not comparing them to the cavs.

We would do much better with delly starting over mo. Moz needs to get some confidence thats all our problems are for the moment.

We are without two of our four best players. Our starting center is hobbled. So basically 3 of our top 5 guys are either not playing, or aren't themselves.

One really bad fucking game, was bound to happen.

Not really sure how anyone thinks we should be playing to GS standards in the early parts of the season.

The Warriors can win their regular season accolades all they want.

All that matters is June. Everyone knows that.

Now Shumpert has worked his way into being one of the four best players. By the end of this thing we'll have talked him up into being an all-star.

EDIT: And one bad game? Are you kidding me? Did you just start tuning in this season last night?

You know, it really is Cleveland luck to get LeBron back and have the most talented team in franchise history... at the same time that arguably the greatest team ever rolls around.

The Warriors are absolutely winning the title, and it won't be close.

no excuse for last night. but the warriors have been 100% healthy for basically the last 1.25 seasons. the cavs have had maybe a third of a season, and not at all this season. Its been said 1000 times this cavs team as long as they are healthy can match up to the warriors.

in fact i dont care if the warriors win 73+, i actually hope it happens. Because every game they win is going to be just a bit more motivation for lebron.

healthy cavs team with a motivated lebron vs a 73 win warriors team. i know where i would put my money (hint not on the warriors)

He's as important as anyone else on this team, outside the top-3. You can flip a coin between him and Mozgov, but I think he's more valuable personally.

I said one really bad game. We've had games we've struggled, but have you not realized how many injuries and things we're dealing with?

Gimme a break. If I gave you the Cavs record, given the shit we've dealt with, you'd not take it?

Acting like we've been pure garbage is just crazy to me. We clearly look like a team without its full parts right now.

I'd say it's been a success given everything.
