he showed up at a timely fashion when we weren't getting anything from the bench. i love watching him go off. there's literally nothin anybody can do. i think he should demand the ball more, but he's rather patient.

It's so awesome to see LeBron or Kyrie or Love dominate since they are cornerstones to this team/franchise/dynasty.

But there is something especially satisfying about Kyle Korver going nuts from 3. It's like a sandwich you got for free, just tastes better for some reason. Or instead of it being free, you swapped a shitty old sandwich for it and his name was Mike Dunleavy and he's kind of a cunt anyway.

Like going from a Ford Taurus to a FerrarI (as far as shooters with solid team D skills are concerned).

I too love few things more than watching Kyle just go off. When that happens, this team is invincible. The gravity he has even when he ISN'T going off is immeasurable. I believe he has a few huge moments upcoming in the next month +.

First comment LBJ had when asked about him after the game was that he's a "professional" who constantly works on his body and his game.

That implies that not everyone on the team does that....

That's high praise from LBJ. He actually respects Korver.

Still can't believe we have him on this team sometimes. Deron as well. And they've been great so far.

He should get much more scoring opportunities during his time on the floor. Cavs should run multiple and not half assed screens for him (like we saw during the 1st half) to get him the ball off of screens. It completely opens up the game for the Cavs because he isn't just a threat to score but is also a terrific passer and he makes the right play 10/10 of the time and he rarely ever turns over the ball. There is no reason for him to just stand at the 3pt line and not be involved, regardless of the spacing that he gives Lebron with his infinite range.

Off topic since we are talking about screens, Lebron should really set some better screens.. he reminds me of Bennett out there when he sets screens for Deron at the point of attack.

What's the chance kyle will be back with us next season ? Do we have the money to keep him next season ?

We have his Bird rights iirc. That means we can re-sign him with whatever it takes.

Yep. Be badass if we could somehow get Reddick as well. But he'll be getting 20M/year. So that's a pipe dream.

Kyle Korver feels like a decoy, he needs and wants more looks and there is no reason for him not to get more looks and be more involved in the offense.
He gives his everything on defense and he needs to get rewarded on the other side of the court.
He really likes being on the other side and for once be on the winning side, but it sounds like he does bother him to only act as a decoy sine he can be so much more and I get that.

He might be a decoy in these games for now but I would bet money they have plans for him in the finals. We dont want to show all ours cards just yet...

I hope so but if it is the case then it looks like they havn't told him yet lol.

He also said he isn't complaining about anything and that he knows and accepts his role.

I wouldn't say he is unsatisfied at all. He knows he's on the downside of his career and he knows exactly why he's here and what he needs to do. If he gets some games where he plays a bigger role and gets more shots up, so be it. If he doesn't it will be because the other team is focused on taking him out of the game and he'll be fine with doing his job just being a decoy.

At this stage we need these guys to be mercenaries ready to do whatever it takes to just win, baby. Individual aspirations all take a back seat.

Being a decoy is nice but it's not the best option. It doesn't matter if he is on the downside of his career and that he knows his role
Last night in the 1st half he was used as a decoy and didn't even get 1 shot off and was useless on the floor. As soon as he started moving the players started setting screens for him and ran some sets, we looked much much better.

Running sets for him doesn't even have to end in a 3pt attempt. Defenders are going into panic mode whenever he gets the ball off of screen and his excellent passing along with high bb iq allow him to make the correct pass out of plays. It opened up our offense completely in the 2nd half.

I don't see any reason not to run more sets for him.. Obviously he prefers to be on the Cavs rather than on the losing team and I'm pretty certain that he likes it here, there is no question about that, but don't be confused, he doesn't like standing at the 3pt line and do nothing. He is a baller and he knows he can contribute more even at this stage of his career. He hasn't lost that ability.
