I don't get this. Do people ignore the possibility that his play is declining simply because they like the guy and his story?
Whaaaaa???
That can't be right? Everyone knows Lue doesn't run plays and sets, he just lets Lebron ISO on every play. Just ask all the people who have Lue avatars, they'll tell you.
Fake BB analysis!
That’s when they actually run some plays. They only seem to do that when Korver is in or out of timeouts. Other than that it’s lebron pounding the ball. It’s one of the reasons I believe that we have a positive on off with him off the floor.
The bench runs plays. One of the reasons they have been productive. Many benches freelance off of one 6th man type. The bench had been strangely cohesive.
Starters are running plays too. Just they initiate with what LeBron's really good at, in PnRs and ISOs with drive and kicks, and give the appearance of just your standard PnRs and ISOs...but that's not all that is happening this year.
I've seen more off ball movement with the ball in LeBron's hands, or in the hands of Shump, or JR, or Calderon...whoever the hell is the 2nd ball-handler on the floor for us with all the injuries...in 17 games than I have in the last 3 years combined it feels.
People only watch the ball during the game, so they assume if LeBron drives or runs a PnR, that's all it is, and there's no play being ran.
We are running actual sets and actions off of LeBron with the starters this year. LeBron will be in a PnR with Love, while Crowder and Smith run pin downs on the weakside, or cut to the openings made by the attention LeBron draws in the PnR.
LeBron's having an insane start to the season, efficiency wise, and I think it's because we are running more action away from him that takes attention away from him, and he is abusing 1 on 1 situations, which he rarely has seen the last few years.
Sure, we lost Kyrie, who by himself is one of the best offensive players in the game...but I think, as a whole, our offense this year when Thomas comes back will be better than anything we've seen the last few years, because the system, not a player, finally takes attention away from the best player on the planet.
I missed the game last night, if really like to watch it, but it appears it is only available on league pass in virtual reality?
Anyway, the improved defense has helped the offense so much. It has been good on the 4th floor maybe 6 games or so, and it looks like everyone is coming around. Really good to see.
I really meant the bench had been much more disciplined in running arts than the starters. Anyway good post
This and following posts, all great stuff.Love it.
And they are the worst of the worst on this forum.
"No system, no sets, no plays, doesn't know his x's and o's, can't use Korver right, can't find useful lineups, isn't talking in 3 second shots on TV so that means he never coaches...
Feels like a job having to dredge through the shit most Lue avi's post.
Back to the topic of Korver, he who Lue can't use right and who we never run plays for or build sets around...he is currently leading the NBA in TS%, and is posting his career high. Better than his figure on that well coached Hawks team that won 60 games and he earned an all-star appearance with.
Imagine if we had a coach who could use him properly!
This and following posts, all great stuff.
I get pretty tired of the lazy criticisms people stick to, knee jerk judgments after a whole 15 games as though that's what we'll look like in late March, panick trade proposals because we're not going to make it to the finals as constituted, etc.etc.etc.
Korver has been great this season. Could almost argue our second most important player so far given the positive impact it has on lebron and his goatly finishing at the rim with korver on the court.
