Farewell, Timofey Mozgov

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm not too impressed that he didn't return to the game after that incident. In a game where we were leading by double digits the entire time, and being down 2 starters, now's not the time to keep a starter on the bench for over a quarter because he struggled a little. Shump tweaked a groin, Thompson was playing heavy minutes, Kyrie looked either winded or banged up a little, maybe both. Shump should not have returned, and I know Thompsons young, but hopefully those huge minutes won't cost him in Game 3. Even being short handed I thought we had the advantage in this series with only 1 day breaks between every game but game 7, because for some reason the Bulls just don't do well with only 1 day off. This isn't a "Blatt can't manage his line-ups" rant, I just wish we could have limited the starters minutes more in a game we literally controlled from the beginning and was never in doubt.

Moz is going to be fine. He just wants to win and gets annoyed when he doesn't make a catch etc.. The team give him so e pretty hard passes to catch. His big area of weakness is he can't play more than 30 mins due to fouling and running out of gas. Not a problem next season but a frustration this playoffs no doubt. He's not even played a full year yet, it takes time to build a perfect team

Moz's mere presence changes the game. he simply needs to stay away for his "hyper" fouls where he slaps at a rebound or goes over someone's back.

Hes a damn force down there and, between him and TT, the CAVs are simply better than Noah and Gasol.

Funny how that changes over the course of time.

Yeah, Gasol is still the best of the four, but Noah is bad enough to make our frontcourt better overall. At least, for the starters.

Gasol is the most skilled, but Thompson has just been embarrassing him on the glass.

Looks consistently good on the defensive end, being 7 foot 1 is a huge advantage...but I think his offensive play is starting to drive LeBron nuts. The team needs to be able to rely on him to finish bunnies. Would like to see him take his adrenaline level down a bit on the offensive end and stop trying to obliterate the rim when he dunks, etc.

That's not why he was brought here though so it's understandable for him to not be a two-way player. And he's a big guy that hasn't played heavy minutes in his career so some of those missed shots are due to fatigue.

LeBron should get his ass into the post if he wants a two-way player there.

We need Moz to bring it tonight so get some stickum on those hands big boy and lets roll.

I'd like to see Mozgov put some pressure on Gasol in the post. Don't think he should get a ton of touches, but changing it up doesn't hurt and Moz can always pass out. He doesn't travel much, and his hook is decent.

Moz is playing well, but he needs to learn, like TT did, that when you get an offensive rebound you don't have to go up with it, especially when double-teamed. It's OK to pass it back out. When he gets the ball near the basket and gathers himself, it seems like he gets blocked or misses about 90% of the time. He's too much of a black hole sometimes when he gets the ball down low.

Moz biggest thing is he doesn't understand how powerful he is. The dude can overpower most players on the court. He just needs to learn how to use his size to go along with the playmaking and shooting of the rest of the team. I can not stress this enough: Mozgov is a huge key to the Cavs future.

Someone mentioned in another thread that Tiago Splitter would be a great back-up to Moz. It would be the other way around - Moz would be a great back-up to Splitter.

Had some great blocks in the first half, but looked soft as fuck the rest of the time.
