Fastlane Tonight - in Cleveland!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: WWE Road to WrestleMania starts tonight!

Yes, the crowd was really into into it very few empty seats. I got there a little before the Superstars match tapings and there were like 3 or 4 YES chants that broke out.
Bryan by far had the biggest pop, followed by Lesnar showing up during the Batista/Orton interview. It's a shame that they don't just give Bryan his title run. He's receiving the biggest pops since the Rock and Stone Cold era. On top of that, dude is simply amazing in the ring. Pretty good show, overall, a lot of matches. I have to look the DVR'd Raw, but there were very few interviews, mostly matches.

Two of my favorite highlights of the night, during one of the matches there were JBL and Jerry chants. When they both got up to acknowledge the chants the crowd went nuts.
The second highlight, "We Want Sting" chants. I know it's about 10yrs too late, but I'd love a year of Sting to build up a match against Taker at Wrestlemania. I'd even give Sting a run as champion to really hype up the match.

Not that this is news but Brock is an absolute monster!

The thing that annoyed me most about the broadcast:

The crowd was obviously chanting "Steelers suck", but one of the announcers (can't remember which one) said they were saying "Cleveland sucks".. Dumbasses.

They need to strike on Bryan now. If they don't, 1 and/or 2 things will happen:

1.) He'll lose momentum after his WrestleMania match with Sheamus

2.) That WrestleMania crowd is going to absolutely shit on Orton vs Batista.

I really hope #2 happens.

Re: WWE Road to WrestleMania starts tonight!

Pretty much is a martyr because he saves Bryan from facing Sheamus, allowing him to face HHH now, and he's just unhappy with a ton of things, direction of the company and his character and he's hurt and exhausted. I believe he'll come back in the future but he needs a long time off.

Re: WWE Road to WrestleMania starts tonight!

If he really quit I don't expect him to come back. He's tired of WWE's direction and he doesn't need the money

Re: WWE Road to WrestleMania starts tonight!

Dude isn't coming back unless he gets what he wants - his final goal of main eventing WrestleMania.

The company thought they were pushing him by having him fight HHH at Mania, Punk didn't view it as a big time match or a "push".

Combine that with the fact that he doesn't need the $, and he's gone, sad as it is for me to say.

There were a bunch of rumblings that he was gone once his contract expired in July, so put that fact in there & he ain't coming back, folks.

Re: WWE Road to WrestleMania starts tonight!

Lol at facing HHH at Mania as not being a big time match. Phil Brooks, as great as he is, is a whiny bitch.

It's probably a step down from the last 2 years for him (WWE title match vs Jericho, streak match vs Taker) so I can't blame him for not wanting to do it. He belongs in the main event of Wrestlemania for sure.

HHH is a part time wrestler who's in an authority role. It's hardly a "push" by any means. They took the most over guy in all of wrestling since Stone Cold/Rocky & completely brought him down.

Yes, he had a long title reign, but only main evented in like, 6 out of a possible 14 (give or take) PPV's while he was champ. After that, not a single title match & completely out of the title picture. They've basically killed his entire buzz.

They're doing the same exact thing with Bryan now.

Besides that, this match should've happened when, you know, it was relevant.. 2 1/2 years ago.

Leave it up to WWE to go back to build to a WrestleMania match 2 years after it really should've happened.

Punk has every right to be pissed. WWE continues to be more worried about bringing back old stars than their current guys who travel & bust their ass 300+ days per year.

You can't tell me Punk hasn't deserved to main event WrestleMania by now, and that Bryan doesn't deserve to this year.

I just hope they learn their lesson when Orton vs Batista gets booed out of the ring at WrestleMania this year. That crowd is going to be ready to unleash their hate. It'll be Goldberg-Lesnar 2, as far as fan reaction goes, IMO.

Card placement does not equate main event status. Being the marquee name means main event status. Being the biggest seller of merch means main event status. No matter what feud, it's why Cena is still the guy. Work ethic means shit. Money business, money guys with big names will allllways be bigger than Bryan Fucking Danielson and Phil Brooks. Always. Do I agree? No. But there's a reason Dolph isn't important; he isn't over with 85% of the audience.

Punk and danielson get more viewers (gains) by segment of raw then Randy Orton. I don't have the data in Batista, so I can't comment on him.

Re: WWE Road to WrestleMania starts tonight!

Knew it was that ending and I still hated it. Too fuckin predictable

Re: WWE Road to WrestleMania starts tonight!

After the reaction Batista got tonight, they absolutely have to find a way to get Bryan into the title match and win it.

Otherwise, their WrestleMania main event is going to get boo'd more than Goldberg/Lesnar was. And I wish I was exaggerating..
