Step #1: Lose your last game... It shouldn't be too hard considering we've lost 11 games already this season, have a QB that hasn't sniffed the field yet this year, a broken defense and offense. Forget pride, and know that we'll be happier with a loss and a higher draft pick than a "win" at the end of the season.

Step #2: Work the magic to draft Joe Thomas and Troy Smith. If we get these two players, we're on the right path. And more offensive linemen in the later rounds, and CB depth.

Step #3: If LeCharles Bentley isn't on his way to return, we should splash money on another stud, proven, offensive lineman. There should be plenty out there, and as many have said, money got Hutchinson out of Seattle to go to Minnesota, so I see similar things possible for us.

Step #4: People will demonize me for this, but we should trade for Lamont Jordan. He's on his way out of Oakland, and I believe that his speed and versatility will be a perfect complement to the jaw breaking of Reuben Droughns. I doubt it would take much.

Step #5: We should probably trade Braylon Edwards, for a receiver in a similar situation on another team, with similar talent. Detroit looks like a good trading partner...

Step #6: Hire Bill Belicheck back. This is the only way to oust Romeo Crennel, is to stick his fat ass back to defense by hiring his former head coach. Belicheck doesn't have a contract for next year, and I believe that he is a dark horse candidate to coach the Browns, to fix the past team that gave up on him.

So, basically:
Draft Joe Thomas and Troy Smith
Trade for Lamont Jordan
Trade Braylon for Mike Williams + picks
Overpay for successful offensive linemen
Hire Bill Belicheck

Miracle? Yes... but this city and team is due for one...... right?

Dorsey will have the game of his life, and lead the Browns to a 37-14 victory.. Book it !!

If not ?

I'm fine with Thomas and then Smith in round 2

I would not trade BE..Many great receivers dropped a ton of passes early in their careers.. Rice, Irvin, Carter, Harrison, Owens, Chad, Steve and Rod Smith, Antonio Freeman, Keyshawn etc.... Braylon will come around.. Furthermore, coming off an acl injury and getting close to a 1000 yards and 8 or 9 TD's is pretty impressive considering the team we have..

Mike Williams is a head case and it's been reported he has a form of depression.. He would best serve to go to Tennessee with Norm Chow, and resurrect his career..

Braylon might seem like an ass, but he's got that "it" factor.. And when this team starts winning, his whole attitude will turn around... You don't want to give up a player of that caliber and potential this early... It's one thing to trade him if this was a polished team with stability, and were winning games.. But we're not.. Everything is a mess.. Give him a little time to mature..

Lamont Jordan? That's the plan for success?

I was thinking the same thing. :chuckles:

And why would Belichick EVER come back here??? That makes absolutely no sense. Of course we'd all love to have him back but why would he do that?

Lamont Jordan, despite being a chump this season and parts of last, is still a very skilled back. He's quick, he's great receiving out of the backfield, and would work very, very well with a pound it up the middle RB like Droughns. Rube, despite having a 1000 yard season in 2005, still only managed 2 TD's, so he obviously needs some sort of help. Most importantly, Lamont Jordan will come relatively cheap in terms of what we would give up. And it's a risk that is could yield very high returns, compared to other options.

And Belichick? Of course, it's a supposition that he might be interested in returning. Really, at this point, there is nothing more challenging than bringing Cleveland a championship, especially since he was the head coach right before the Browns got moved. He might... MIGHT have an itching to help out his buddy Romeo to bring this franchise up from the dust.

Gimme a break here though, I'm just as pissed as any about this joke of a season and am waiting for some sort of miracle. 4 years ago, the Cavs got LeBron. 4 years before that, the Indians were beginning their success years. Now, 12 years after the Browns got moved, maybe something bright might happen for a change.

As long as you know only a miracle would land Belichick back in Cleveland. And the Indians began their successful run in the strike year of 1994, also my senior year of HS :)

Mike Williams is the same kind of player as Braylon can't catch either. Did you see 2 weeks ago he could have won the game, but he dropped the ball just like Braylon did in the Pittsburgh game.

Cowher has a much better chance of coming back here than Bill B.

You have got to be an idiot to want Belipuke back. He swered us like none other, and he is hated, i repeat hated in the city of Cleveland. The thought of bringing him back is just :thumbdown .

Lamount Jordan is not what this team is missing.

Regardless if Bentley comes back next season we must still give a big guy money for the o-line.

All I want from the last game of the year is a couple of sacks by Wimbley and no body to get hurt. A close game that we lose.

You are nuts if you think that this city wouldn't embrace the return of Belichick. Have you been out in the California sun too long? Come back to reality in Cleveland and all this town wants is a real coach. I live here and I know what's going on here.

What Wahoo says. If he came back, this city would go nuts. Hated? I don't think so...

we need many things but here is what I think we need badly

draft Joe Thomas.....plug his big ass in at LT for the next decade

Bently to get healthy....we need him period

try and buy one more OL as a FA....Thomas Bently and one more FA with Schaffer looks pretty solid to me

get a better RB....sorry Rube but you arent good enough

decide on what we want at QB....stay with Frye or draft Smith (2nd round at the very earliest although I still see it as a bad pick) and get a guy like Jake Plummer to play next year

find someone to play on the DLine....our dline is bad real bad drafting a guy like Alan Branch would be perfect if he comes out and we dont get Thomas

get a little better DB depth saftey and Corner and hope to stay healthy

other than that we are fine...haha

You obvisouly were not a fan when Bernie got shafted. You know, Bernie Freaking Kosar the most BELOVED athlete ever to play in Cleveland. Yes over Jim Brown.

Hell why dont we get art modell back as are owner. I mean, he helped evelated/maintained the Browns into a dominate power house when he took over as the owner. Oh wait he shafted the fans as well.

Get out of your mind. Would you want the dude who raped your daughter to be the best man of the guy who was gunna marry her. NOOOOOOOOO.

Dont give me the California sun bullshit either. Im as much as a die hard as any other human being on earth and I dont want belipuke back as a coach.

Dude, you were born in 85 according to your profile. I was watching the Browns go 8-8 that year and was devastated when they lost to the Dolphins in the Wild Card game. So don't tell me I'm not a fan. Belichick dropped Kosar because he couldn't get it done anymore. Yeah, I was sick at the time and hated him like everyone else. But in retrospect it was the right move. The team was 11-5 in 1994 in case you forgot. That was without Bernie.

Belichick pulled the same move with the Pats and dumped Bledsoe. And you know what, he won a Superbowl because of it. The guy can coach and more importantly, he can WIN. Because of that, Browns fans would welcome him back here.

And NO you can't compare him to Modell, who picked the team up and moved it. Those are two totally different scenarios no matter how you want to spin it.
