He helped lead the Cowboys to a superbowl, how again can that happen if he isnt any good?

Im off to lake tahoe, piece.

He helped lead....haha - yeah you know your history.

I remember that too (like the dirt play against the Broncos). They started him after the Cowboys clinched everything in the regular season and he took a few BIG kneel downs in the playoffs.

Super Bowl Stats
1993 buf W,30-13 | 0 0 0 0 0 | 1 -1 0 (the last play in the Super Bowl)

have fun at Tahoe.

Its a mute point anyways, belipuke isnt coming here and he got lucky that brady turned out to be a stud and that vanderjack made a couple of field goals.

You're talking about Vinatieri, not Vanderjagt, right?

Either way, thanks for the spirited Browns discussion today. I hope they can get back to the playoffs in both of our lifetimes.

I don't care what we have to do in order for the Cleveland Browns to go from the punchline of every joke to a team people respect and don't want to see on their schedule..

If it means tackling a representative during the draft and changing the name on the card then so be it..

I don't care if we get Vern Troyer coaching this team...I don't care who the guy is if he can bring this team to respectability I could care less.

This is a storied franchise and one that deserves to be on front street...we have a very loyal fan base and a great city behind the team..

This year was whack to start out...everyone was so focused on the "1960" thing no one really gave a shit about what was going on this season...it's "let us remember Jim Brown and Otto Graham" yeah that's fine and dandy but we're worse than we were last year...

That post does show that you are a moron. I called you a moron when talking about the current situation, not about Bernie. You assumed that becasue Im 21 and live in Cali that I dont know whats going on. Once again learn how to read.

Once again that team was in first place, than he got cut with some bum as the backup. UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, hello. Bernie might have been what he was in the past but he wasnt a bumb either. He helped lead the Cowboys to a superbowl, how again can that happen if he isnt any good?

Its a:thisguy: mute point anyways, belipuke isnt coming here and he got lucky that brady turned out to be a stud and that vanderjack made a couple of field goals.

And yes I was shitting my diapers during those playoff years, but my old man was tossing me up and down when we beat the Jets in the double overtime game. And I watch the old playoff games every once and a while, so I know what was going on dude.

Im off to lake tahoe, piece.

Have fun, bro...

Step #3: If LeCharles Bentley isn't on his way to return, we should splash money on another stud, proven, offensive lineman. There should be plenty out there, and as many have said, money got Hutchinson out of Seattle to go to Minnesota, so I see similar things possible for us.

Well the first thing we need to do, is lock up Hank Fraley... Ever since he's been here, he's done a pretty good job at center throughout the season, considering we didn't have him at all during training camp and he had to learn the offense on the fly..

^^^ That should be the first thing we need to take care of on the line... Secondly, we need a left guard; plain and simple... Andruzzi made Shaffer look like stiff because there were countless occasions where Shaffer had to help out Andruzzi... If you put a good guard next to Shaffer, you'd be surprised to see what a difference it makes... I could live with Coleman or Andruzzi at right guard for one more season, but I defintely want a new left guard...

Step #4: People will demonize me for this, but we should trade for Lamont Jordan. He's on his way out of Oakland, and I believe that his speed and versatility will be a perfect complement to the jaw breaking of Reuben Droughns. I doubt it would take much.

I'd actually welcome that addition... Not only does LaMont posses the perfect AFC North running style, but his ability to block and catch some balls out of the backfield would be a very nice...

I think this could be a definte possibility too, with Adrian Peterson likely to be there when the Raiders pick... But, the Raiders just locked LaMont Jordan up to a big, long-term deal, so I could see if they would be a bit reluctant to deal him... He also had a few nagging injuries throughout this season and the offensive line wasn't anything to brag about, either...

LyXo said:
Step #5: We should probably trade Braylon Edwards, for a receiver in a similar situation on another team, with similar talent. Detroit looks like a good trading partner...

I'd only trade Braylon, if I knew I could get Calvin Johnson... I don't want to give up on a talented receiver, without getting another one back...

Because honestly, yeah Braylon was an ass throughout the season at times, but he was a difference maker... His size, leaping ability and speed is a good combination... We just need someone to get him the ball...

Step #6: Hire Bill Belicheck back. This is the only way to oust Romeo Crennel, is to stick his fat ass back to defense by hiring his former head coach. Belicheck doesn't have a contract for next year, and I believe that he is a dark horse candidate to coach the Browns, to fix the past team that gave up on him.

I think I'd have a better chance at winning the lottery than , the chance the Browns would have at landing Bilicheck...

What motive would Belicheck have, coming to a losing team and leaving one of the most successful franchises since the 2000's? I mean, he pretty much has that team stocked the way he wants it... So I doubt he wants to be a part of a rebuilding process..

The more I think about it, the more I just don't see what Romeo Crennel has to offer the Browns franchise... I mean sure he's a great 'X & Os' guy, but I don't think he has some of the qualities the Browns need...

The Browns need a head coach who can come in and inspire these young players and instill some discipline them... I mean just take a look at some of the other 'young gun' coaches in the NFL; Sean Payton, Mike Nolan (last year), Jack Del Rio, Eric Magini etc... We need someone like one of those guys to be the head coach of our team...

To take one of those guys for an example, look at what Mike Nolan did for the San Francisco franchise... From the first day that he started there, he demanded respect... He knew what he was looking for in his players and what he wanted from them... And he made the players aware of that and if they didn't want to comply with him, then they were gone... I mean, he didn't even think twice about trading away the team's best offensive weapon (Brandon Lloyd) or let their best player on both sides of the ball (Julian Peterson) walk... He knew these guys weren't what the team was looking for and didn't have a problem with letting them go...

Regardless even if they had both Lloyd and Peterson, they were one of the least talented teams in the NFL; on both sides of the ball... Yet, Nolan had that team fighting and scrapping for every game, no matter what the score/opponent was... And no matter what, they kep playing for their head coach, because they believed in him and his system... And honestly, when you watch the Browns team, you have to wonder whether or not some of those players truly trust Crennel and his system...

Look at were the Niners are now... They're 6-9 and just barely fell out of the playoff race.. When you compare the Browns and Niners, I'm sure the Browns have a lot more talent that the Niners have on either side of the ball... But yet, a guy like Mike Nolan knows how to get the best out of his players and knows where to put those players, so they play to their maximum potential...

Sure the Niners had a lucky find in Frank Gore and have one of the up-and-coming offenses in the NFL, but don't you think Nolan had a lot do with that team turning around? I mean, his attitude and the things he instilled completely turned that franchise around... And guys, that is what we need... We need more than a X's and O's guy, like I mentioned before, we need a motivator and leader.. I mean just take one little example of what Mangini does; every Saturday night he shows his team clips of Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods... All of these were lessons of talent isn't why they were so successful, but how they developed their talent, is why their were such players... We need someone like this who could turn around the feeling of this franchise...

Now, I'm not saying that Bill Bilicheck couldn't win in Cleveland, because he certainly could, but that isn't what we need... Just like Crennel, he's not a very vocal guy and is more a strategist... I mean, that's fine when you have a team like the New England Patriots, who have been there and done that and are one of the more disciplined teams in the league... But when you have a team like the Cleveland Browns, you need a Nolan, Mangini, Payton etc...

Guys like (Nolan, Mangini, Payont etc), pretty much overhauled their roster and made sure all the players they brought in and decided to keep, knew that they were in control from the start... Crennel is pretty much the opposite... I mean from what I've observed from him is he shows no fire to win or he seems content with being in the rebuilding process... And that's not what we need from our coach...

I also believe that we need a coach who isn't afraid to take some risks or got out on the limb... If Romeo was a head coach somewhere else, where had just gotten the job and the team he inherited had more talent/confidence in themselves then, I think he would be a good choice for that team... But with the team that we have, he simply isn't the coach you want, due to his shyness about him... We need somebody who can come in and be assertive and change some of these players attitudes...

If you remember Trevor Pryce, who visited the Browns this past offseason, said the atmosphere in Cleveland was 'suffocating'... And to be honest, that doesn't sound any different from the attitude/atmosphere that was here in the past regimes... Romeo hasn't done anything since getting here to change that atmosphere in Cleveland and quench the thirst of a winning season...

We need a guy who can command respect, leadership and let the players know he expects to win and their effort game in and game out... It seems like the only players who have spoken out about this are BE and K2... These guys seem like the only players unwilling to accept the team's failures...

Overall, I just don't think Romeo is the guy for this job of the Cleveland Browns... He's a good coach and all, but like I stated, he just doesn't have the qualities for this team.. He just doesn't have what this team needs.. If we expect to compete in the next few seasons and not waste the future of BE, K2, and Wimbley we need a coach to come in and do more than just be the X and O's guy; we need a motivator, leader and someone who can change the attitude of this team and most importantly, this city...

You basically described why Romeo is a great guy to have behind the scenes organizing a plan of attack but you'd rather him tell you what you'd like to tell the guys so it doesn't go in one ear and out the other..

The guy is a miserable leader..terrible motivator and his lack of emotion kills any chemistry...I hate him..

I said that he's more of a strategist than a motivator... And for the type of team we have, it isn't what we need...

Maybe Dorsey will draw a play up in the dirt late in the game and get us within 20 to spite Romeo.

If you're going to go Troy Smith in the 2nd round, and the tackle in the first, at least try to bring in Bledsoe too. He's been a helluva mentor to the last two guys he was in front of, maybe it works out for Smith that way too.

I wouldn't mind Bledsoe at all...

Cut Dorky and trade Frye for a 7th rounder in 2014..

I just noticed that Shaffer is a LT, as is Joe Thomas... will this affect how we draft? I'd rather not miss out on a stud OL in the first round because of a guy that can potentially play.

I'd rather give the boot to Andruzzi than keep him... he's proven to be worthless this season, and was vastly outplayed by his backup, Friedman, but somehow still ended up back in the lineup.

Keeping Fraley would be a good idea though.. he's good insurance if Bentley doesn't show this season, and can even continue to start, shifting Bentley to guard.

I'm glad that someone at least agrees with getting Lamont. I believe that he will be available, I believe that if we make a budge for him, Oakland won't be too reluctant to drop a large contract, considering the production he gave this season, and the numerous big contracts already on their team. It's a price I'd be willing to pay, considering he's the proven, prototypical back you want sharing carries with Reuben Droughns.

I'll rescind my thoughts to trade Braylon... I just hope he gets out of the mold of 60 yard TD's that inflate his stats, while dropping crucial passes at the line of scrimmage.... one more year to prove himself as a quality #1 receiver.

The reason I brought up Belichick, is that if he intended to stay with the Patriots, I would have thought that he would have re-upped before this season. I think that he has built a great Patriots team, and with Tom Brady, it will be more of the same year after year. On top of that, there is really nowhere to go but down, at this point, and it seems that NE is on that path: slowly losing its veterans, its star players, and him having to regroom new players.
Now, with his old buddy Crennel struggling here, it's a possibility that he'd return, to save Romeo... whose job will definitely be in question this offseason, with the likes of Cowher dangling his availability. If put under the pressure, Crennel could step down as head coach, to make way for Belichick, and remain in a more comfortable position as a coordinator with the prospect of retaking the reigns once BB turns around the franchise.

But you might be right, Smooth, that we need a motivator rather than a strategist. If that is the case, then look no further than Bill Cowher.

If that's the case, then we have Joe Thomas and Kevin Shaffer as the tackles, Fraley at C, sign up a quality guard via free agency, and plug in Friedman until Bentley returns... not a shabby O-line, as long as we dont' have career ending injuries at training camp.

A dream off season would be drafting Joe Thomas, stealing away Steinbach from the Bungles, and getting LeCharles back healthy next year at some point.

Uhm yeah getting way ahead of myself....
