Unless Houston simply tells Orlando they are out of it because they like their rookies to much, this deal is never going to get done untill right before the season because they Magic will always have hope that Houston will eventually cave and take back two bad contracts AND give up two of the three rookies (if not all three).

Well, this won't be ending anytime soon. Seems like Orlando is willing to just let Dwight sit out and walk. Goodluck finding a better offer than what Houston and Cleveland/LAL have put on the table. Orlando is a trainwreck of a franchise right now. Begging Dwight to stay, firing their coach, and seemingly unwilling to make a move to better their franchise whether it be with Cleveland, LAL, Brooklyn, or Houston.

Man seriously, if we were them would we want Anderson Varejao and 3 mid-teen picks? I wouldn't. I'd say hold out at LEAST until early October to see if Houston offers up all that they've got.

I don't think that is going to happen. However I don't think Houston wants Bynum I think they want Howard directly and therefore will wait as long as possible to get him (Trade deadline?)

Cleveland has the worst offer. But they have been offered Bynum and Houston reportedly offered pretty much everything they have. What else are they going to get? No crappy lottery team will offer more and most good teams don't have the assets the Magic want.

Plus Dwight won't agree to play for teams outside of Brooklyn and LA. Bynum is a knee injury away from the Magic being forced into a low ball deal from the Rockets.

Bynum is just not going to give assurances to CLE. Just not happening -- though I certainly see where Grant and Gilbert are coming from.

Hey, If I scored a date with Blake Lively i'd try to get an assurance she'd bang me.

Is negotiating by using the media also part of due diligence? There's only one name who gets mentioned in these leaks as much as Dwight's and its Hennigan. GMs should blacklist this guy after this ordeal is over.

And all those media sources have explicitly stated that Orlando isn't revealing ANYTHING.

But hey, since you seem to know everyone in the Magic front office, I'll take your word for it.

Summary:
Nothing new.. basically insisting Cavs are "eager" to get a deal done and are still waiting for word that Bynum would commit to an extension long term.

Signs are pointing to that happening. I read from one of the Orlando beat writers that they are going to hold out until they get the deal they want. Then and only then will they trade Dwight.

I dont know why you are grouping The Bullshit Whisperer with lloyd. Lloyd seems to be a solid reporter who just keeps reporting stuff that we dont want to hear. So far he has been on the money and indeed if you look at the Howard Nets deal from last week he was right and the national guys including Wojo were wrong. I havent listened to this evening's Windy interview but he certainly has not been ahead of the game in reporting on the Howard issue. This may be because he is not supposed to scoop Broussard or Bucher in the ESPN pecking order. The Bullshit Whisperer on the other hand has no credibility.

Players will not sign extension until end of next year.. would lose too much money
Cavs know this and are still willing to take on the risk as long as they get assurance he will sign after the year
