Game 10: Cavs vs. Bobcats, Friday, November 15, 2013, 7:30 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I expected so see some improvement over 9 games. Not necessarily in Wins, but something to build on and the players buy in to. I don't see it.

It doesn't work like that. The biggest issue with young teams is getting to play hard on both ends of the floor all 48 minutes. It's about consistency with the energy level. We showed some promise (at least defensively) for 3 quarters and we had the lead. We weren't shooting the ball well all game and we still had the lead!! We let off the gas in the 4th and Charlotte made a big run.

When the team shows the appropriate amount of energy all game, that's when the wins will start coming.

Where are all those Mike Brown's defenders from moment when he got re-hired? Is this Mike Brown you all thought or we should expect other Mike Brown to show up?

Its too early to criticize Mike Brown to the point he is the blame for all its ill. theres still players being developed young guys who need to learn how to win.

Cavs still got alot of basketball in front of them

Its to early to blame Mike Brown for everything wrong with the team, but when I see the regression of Kyrie and Jack, SOME of it has to be on him.

Here's when you know coaching is a problem. When so many players have regressed. Kyrie has taken about 3 steps back. Andy has regressed (probably due to age, though). Jarrett Jack is so much worse than he was last year, it's like its a totally different guy. Earl Clark has been made to look like he doesn't even belong in the league. Tristan Thompson does what he does off of pure hustle and heart. Not like Brown is putting him spots to succeed.

Has Kyrie really regressed? His defense has improved. he is making a better effort passing the ball although still inconsistent and his shooting is a temporary by product of adjusting his game. does he have work to do yes but he is closer to being a guy who wins.

Shoes, I respect you and you have great posts. I'm not trying to be argumentative, but when you hold a team to 86 you should win.... That isn't a lack of defensive effort, energy, or a "big run" from Charlotte to get them to 86.

please, he is awful right now. not playing any resemblance of winning basketball

Dude what is it you expect us to do, hold them to 75 points? It's the NBA. At some point they are just going to hit shots no matter how hard you're playing. This is the Mike Brown "if you just play really, really hard they won't score forever and we'll win" mentality. No, they have talent. They have guys that can hit shots even when defended well. At some point you're going to be asked to score a bucket or two.

That last 5 minutes was some of the most selfish play I've ever seen. Whatever "effort" he makes at passing goes flying out the window in the fourth quarter. It was terrible.

I had quite a few post back in the old Brown vs Scott Threads about the team struggling out of the gate and it taking time for Browns systems to get in place to be effective. They are actually further along than I thought they would be.

going even further back . I also was very outspoken about tanking and what it does toa players mentality. . Cavs have only played 2 games out of ten that they had no chance of a win. most of the other losses including tonight were opportunities they let go

Your expectations couldn't have been lower because this team looks like one of the worst teams in the NBA.

What about the ones they did win like the Nets and Philly ? Do those count too because they just as easily could have been opportunities that nearly slipped away.

I generally agree, but virtually everyone on our team except Clark were missing their shots, most of them on good looks. We should have been up 15-20 points those first three quarters, but we weren't because nobody could hit anything.

Even disregarding all of that, we still could have won the game if we continued to defend at the level we were previously. As soon as Charlotte started hitting shots in the 4th, the entire team froze and looked lifeless. Nobody was hustling out there except Varejao and Thompson. I expect it from our young guys, but vets like Jack and Clark/Gee should know better.

remember when Scott took over the Cavs and half the team ran browns old defense and the other half was trying to run Scotts and there was no way to tell who was playing right because all five guys were in the wrong spot..

same thing here.

no it doesnt reinforce anything except the cavs are losing to a team they dont match up with well and has a better record. This could the heat and it wouldnt make the way they played tonight any better

Now we don't match up well with the Bobcats...that's crazy.

And it's not hard to understand that Kyrie is a BIG part of this team. His struggles are directly related to our poor start this season.
