had to miss this game unfortunately.

+cavs: 62% fg's off assists

3% fg% difference. spurs by 2.

Really wish Joe made that wide-open three after the offensive rebound late in the fourth. That would have brought the roof down. We showed grit. Unfortunately, the Spurs did too.

Great battle. Disappointing end.
On to the next one.

Just saw a dvr'd game of LeBron from 2009. LeBron model 2014 is not the same. Either he's lost 'something' or he's hurt. It's like two different players out there. Missing layups, misdribbling, getting beat on the glass... and this 'leadership' role he's taken.
Personally, I think he's hurt, and it's his lower back. He should take care of it now, while the season is young, even if he misses a few months. Currently he's killing us. And himself. And he knows it.

Now how can this be true. Because by any measure he's been the best player on the team up to this point. After the week he just had how in the hell can we still be getting these posts.

I think people need to take a step back from this type of rhetoric. Here is a guy who is average 26 points a game on 47.5% shooting. Is it his best? No. But if we had a team of guys doing that we'd be the best team in the league. He's definitely not "killing" the team. He's been the best player on it.

A Dion Waiters radar? Get the fuck out of here with that shit. I read the posts in the game threads and it gets annoying seeing people bitch about Dion's shot selection while seemingly not caring about anyone else taking bad shots. People have bitched about Dion so far yet Kyrie is 0-4 (Now 1-5) and I've only seen 2 or 3 posts directed at him.

Ultimately I could care less. I really don't give a fuck. You can look back at my initial post. All I did was laugh at how ridiculous everyone was being because Dion seems to be the player posters have the least amount of patience with for whatever reason. You're the one who caught feelings and got upset at my "defending" him. Hop off my dick and stop trying to act tough over the internet.
We know you care about Dion Waiters.

These posts are becoming cavfanatic esque. The site is actually becoming unreadable after a loss. Makes me miss post LeBron era much more and that's very sickening. I'll do my best and not get banned again. Lurk more, post less after losses.

I prefer to look at the all the games, his form, and his college career to tell me he's a better spot up shooter.
Watch closely next game; Joe Harris hops into all of his jump shots. Dion uses the 1-2 step to gather momentum; which is much slower and less rhythmic. Dion has to wait to catch the ball, and often times even pauses before stepping into his shot. Harris on the other hand will initiate his hop right before even catching the ball so he can immediately get his shot up.

People wonder why Harris is getting the nod. Well, he is a quicker and more accurate shooter(this part I believe will be proven over time). He also quickly gets rid of the ball if he doesn't have a shot, and most importantly he is guaranteed to not take poor quality shots. Dion literally can't go a single game without taking a few really poor quality jump shots.

I have yet to see joe Harris take a shot and think to myself "you know, we probably could have got a better quality look if we ran some more clock"

I also believe he is more active on defense when he is off the ball. Sure, dion has better physical tools on that end, but I caught him just standing around on defense and doing a poor job of navigating screens. I think dion is capable of playing solid defense in ISO situations, but he falls asleep way too often off the ball and doesn't show much hustle.

Kind of reminds of the difference between Lyle Alzado at Kilgore Junior College, and Lyle Alzado, Defensive Player of the Year, from the Denver Broncos. And we all know what that difference was...

Hated for the Cavs to lose this game..they got some interesting calls which hurt the Cavs..and the last 3 second turnover was the nail...
I agree with those who say Lebron looks different..I said it a couple of weeks ago.

I liked the way the Big 3 minutes were staggered. I know we were at home the Spurs were down a few guys, but playing them basically even without playing the Big 3 40 minutes is a good sign.

We got Kyrie right. Once we get Love right, LeBron will stop having to worry about getting either of them playing well, and he can just play.

Are you talking player of the week lebron? The lebron who is obviously the best player in the NBA. What are you even talking about? Lebron was fouled hard a few times and got no calls. I think he is getting his legs back under himself. But to say he should sit out months is crazy. The one averaging almost 26 poi nts 7 boards and 7 assist? SMH.

Let's agree that he looks different and is playing differently.
So maybe it's good enough for putting up numbers, but to me personally, it doesnt look 'right' and it 'feels' like he's not 100%. Couple that with new 'moves' like the fadeaway, taking more 3's, and generally avoiding contact, it seems like a concious attempt to deal with this new physical situation.

But the bottom line is he's a different player, especially physically and athletically. And it's affecting the team, the 'chemistry', and 'leadership', and all the rest. And he seems like he knows it.

On the bright side, Kyrie had a wonderful game. He's shown he can do it all on offense, and also played great on defense. Really encouraging!

The difference between 2009 and 2014 Lebron is 5 years in a high impact sport. You can't expect the same player physically and just because he's not doesn't mean he's hurt.

Him playing at the elite level that he is also doesn't mean he ISN'T hurt. Could end up getting confirmation that he is in the next couple weeks.

Either way, I think expectations need to be tempered as to LeBron's athleticism. You're going to watch it fall off, maybe even to a disturbing degree if he stays here for another 4-5 years. He's not the same guy he was and he shouldn't be.

What you want to see him do is what the other great ones did and it's to either hit the post more often and work a fadeway or drop step and increase their skill set out on the perimeter. He's certainly improved his perimeter game to an incredible degree, so he's on the way.

FWIW...his handles have never been that good. That play last night seemed like it was less a result of a physical issue and more a result of trying to do too much without looking at the open players to his left.
