Game 15 | Indiana Pacers (7-9) vs. Cleveland Cavaliers (7-7) | November 29, 2014 | 7:30pm EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It really bums me out to listen to how people talk about Dion every night.

It's clear he's got a lot to learn. And a lot to figure out. And a lot to work on skills wise. But the guy is still a third year player. Two years playing on a wreck of a team.

He is not giving us a lot lately. He is struggling for sure. And he wears his emotions on his sleeve so you can see it in his body language. But he still has plenty of time to absorb the coaching, absorb the veteran guidance, take stock of his role, and grow into a very good NBA player. Why are we so eager to write him off as a total lost cause?
Yes he has a lot of time to learn but do we have the time to wait for him?

Imo that is a no and the fact that he'll get big offers in FA pushes the tides even more.

It's like Dion is that one fucked up solider in an army unit that everyone thinks is a good guy.

We like him sometimes but he doesn't fit at all

Does Dion really have plenty of time to learn? He's got to show more than flashes at this point. Our team needs to upgrade in a few areas, and Dion is about to enter that critical negotiating window in the offseason. This team needs to know what we're going to do with him by the trade deadline if not earlier...

Dion needs to go once Delly is back. He needs to be a volume shooter on a bad team. Any team.

Is Dion ever going to not take that awful shot?

Dude he simply doesn't get "it"

Why TF did I just see a stepback 21 footer Dion?

Kirk sighting! He will save the bench!!!

Is Waiters even trying to look for teammates first today?

What are you talking about. I'm sitting here watching the same game as you. He's swinging the ball. He's passing a lot in this garbage time. It's like every time Dion takes a shot, whether he makes it or not, two things are going to happen:

1. If he takes more than one dribble prior to that shot, he will criticized on here(and yes, I think there are some times where he does dribble too much)

2. Every shot gets analyzed with a complete look around the court to examine if he was the only available shot option, and if not, it's Dion stopping the offense. As if he should only shoot if its a wide open spot up or he's the only option, when in fact, with the second unit, he is supposed to be our main offensive initiator and scorer

No doubt he is struggling. but I just don't see the ball stopping and not looking for teammates tonight that you're talking about.

Ima agree to disagree with you man

This is some of the worse shot selection Iv ever seen

I will grant that Dion rarely gets a call when getting hammered as he drives to the hoop. Kyrie would get those calls.

Nice how shorthanded they managed to give Lebron a lot of rest tonight, without burning out Love or Kyrie either.

He's not eligible to get a FA offer from another team for almost 20 months.

As for fit, obviously that is a work in progress and one that he needs to improve on.

But I will trust the coaching staff and front office to determine that within a much broader spectrum of what they think he can become and what they see in totality of games and practice rather than our own fanbases night by night demand for he to be a finished product NOW(which believe me, I wish he was)
