Game 23| 76ers @ Cavaliers| 12-12-2008| 7:30 PM (ET)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I like how they looked for Jawad on that play and gave him an opportunity. The whole bench was up for that. Nice team play.

Kudos to Jawad Williams for his first career NBA basket.

You gotta love the defensive effort in the last 3 quarters. After a bit of a rough start in the 1st the Cavs only gave up 47 points in the last 3 qtrs.
Every time Philly looked like they might be starting to make it closer the Cavs would put an end to it and keep and expand the lead. That's a difference from past seasons when the Cavs would give up leads and let teams back in.

Varejao and Jackson were solid in helping fill the void left by Z.

It was a good shot, nice form.

Jackson looks like he'll be a solid rebounder for a long time, which is great news.

suprised MB didn't even rotate JJ in at all, Jackson was playing well but was sure suckin wind at times

any word on what mo's little tweak was

mark jackson and jeff vangundy just said that they would vote for lebron as DPOY!

EDIT: from bw's blog-

Mo Williams had to leave the bench twice tonight, but it was not serious. He was wearing a pad on the bottom of his foot and the tape kept coming loose and it started rubbing and making him uncomfortable. So he'll be just fine for the game in Atlanta.

Jackson was solid on boards, but pretty much atrocious at everything else.

He's a rook so I'll let it go, but I think JJ deserved some of those minutes more.

I'm surprised they don't set more screens for Jackson, seems like a good mid range shooter. Of course I didn't get to see all of the game so don't really know.

Well now we are what 20-4, by the way I am chalking up the lose tomorrow.

Two thoughts:

1)Got to admit I was a little disappointed on "Big Ben Wig Night" that Big Ben didn't sport his natural fro.

2) It was a sloppy win, and we had stretches of ugly basketball (the first quarter was brutal), but I'm glad we pulled it out. Poor 3 pointer shooting from the Sixers definitely helped as we were still able to get the win with low 40% shooting. Just goes to show you how good we are even if the shots aren't exactly falling.

According to Windhorst, Ben didn't want to jinx the streak by wearing the Fro. So he wore the wig during warmups and sported braids throughout the game.

On the questions about Mo and why he left the game, here is Windhorst:

Mo Williams had to leave the bench twice tonight, but it was not serious. He was wearing a pad on the bottom of his foot and the tape kept coming loose and it started rubbing and making him uncomfortable. So he'll be just fine for the game in Atlanta.

I want to announce Lebron's new shooting coach: ANDERSON VAREJOA! They have to re-sign him or he will be unable to show Lebron how to hit that mid range jumper.
