Game 36 | Cavs @ Utah | Friday January 10, 2014 9:00 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Also, this team looks a hell of a later better when we get positive production out of Jack.

If you extrapolate that, we're on pace for 59 wins!!!!!

Yeah, it's all well and good with TT constantly around the basket and shrinking the floor when the other team can't protect the rim and we're hitting outside shots. That's not gonna happen all the time. He needs to get his ass out of the paint.....

My point.

It's basically this. If Bennett is your guy, then you aren't allowed to even say a nice thing about Thompson. Only rchfld manages it from time to time.

The schedule the next 10 games has just had 3 major change to our advantage:

-Deng off of the Chicago roster and on to ours
-Bledsoe out for Phoenix
-Holiday and Anderson out for New Orleans

As it lays out, the expectation has to be 5-6 wins, with the hope for the team really gelling and maybe getting 7 or 8

Encouraged by the play of Irving and Waiters.

Love the way Kyrie came out early and worked to set up the offense... but wanted to see a quicker tempo like we saw in the Sixers game. The pace was so slow that we saw 2-3 3 seconds calls, and some very dull Iso's in the first half that we didnt need to see.

I still would much rather see Dion be the primary ball handler/initiator as soon as he comes in the game, as opposed to Jack. Did not like seeing Clark given Bennett's minutes either. Bennett needs the minutes.

Was Dion wearing Kyrie's shoes? If so, that's a pretty awesome development.

star players out for opposing teams? certain losses

(just ignore tonight)

honestly we may have really turned a corner here. two games with really great performances and effort. wouldn't be surprised at all to see > .50 basketball for a while. then later in the season, you'll have bad teams competing for the tank which should help us.

Nice to see the guys start to trust each other.

Your point is totally unfounded as it pertains to me, try again. I've said plenty of nice things about TT, go look back at my posts from his rookie year-- I was captain of his bandwagon when nobody else believed. Go ahead, look.

He hasn't developed into the PF we need, which at the time I thought he could. Not a big deal, he does some nice things, but when our outside shots aren't falling or he's matched up with a bigger opponent, he's not having games like this. He was incredibly average the past three games and equally inconsistent throughout the year. Just because he gets some extra points on open dunks off dump-off's, I'm not gonna anoint him a starter, or an all-star, or whatever you guys wanna call him. More times than not, he's clogging the lane and disrupting our flow on offense with his indecisiveness.

This has nothing to due with Bennett, good try, though.

Yes, thank you. When we get into that stagnant offense, our guards have to figure out how to replicate this. There has been games where the lack of ball movement, lack of good picks, lack of any 2 man game..... at those moments, our guards need to throw the switches and focus on the other parts of the game.

It's like the Frankenstein monster comes to life when the players start moving around swiftly, with a purpose and unselfishly sharing the rock after defensive stops. It was a beautiful thing, we just don't get to see enough of it. This is just young players learning it takes time, and sometimes our shots won't always be falling like they were tonight, which makes it all the more important that Bennett, Irving, Waiters doesn't sulk because their shot is not dropping. If Irving's shot is not falling, share the rock, draw the defense to you on the drive and make plays for others.

I have seen Kyrie go into that mode at points this season where he was deliberately forcing himself to pass the ball and make plays for others rather than keep trying to find his shot. Other times I have seen Dion really lock down on defense and take it personally, even when his shot isn't falling. Dion is also highly capable of driving and dishing to the right man.

Like Brown says, we have to remember that we can win games if our shots are not falling by doing all the other little things on the court. Set good picks, crash the boards, drive and dish, get random tap-backs on rebounds, double at the right moment.....

Once we figure out that we can re-route our focus to doing all the little things right until our jumpshots are falling again...... that will be the next progression of our youth and our team growing in a really positive direction.

People complain about Thompson's inability to shot block, but his 1on1 defense is really top notch stuff.

I been trying to tell people. They always pass it out!

I'll give TT the benefit of the doubt, and say that he'll get that jumper together by next year, and be a more complete PF.

Look for what? You joined in June of 2012. That would be after his rookie year....
