Game #48| Cavs @ Knicks| Wednesday Feb. 4th, 2009| 7:30pm [ET]

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
i've never owned a pair of rose colored glasses....

but i fail to see how anyone can find a negative in what lebron did for the team tonight. yes he came out aggressive on offense but never did he lose sight of keeping guys involved. heck he might have had five MORE assists if guys knocked down shots.

sometimes you just can't win if you're lebron. you share the ball and they call you passive...you play aggressive and get accused of putting on a show. SMH

THIS

Lebron just trying to show Kobe "anything you do, I can do better"

Wally has been ballin, 13 rebounds

I got the feeling that this was definitely a "showcase game" for LeBron, but also felt that they were kind of "toying with" the Knicks... like at any time the Cavs could simply go away from the "LeBron Feature" and return to our normal game and push the lead, which they did several times.

Yes, the Cavs could have easily won this game by 20, but I felt privileged to watch LeBron's historic performance tonight.

I didnt see beyonce today. That made me angry. I wanted to see her BOOTYLICIOUS-NESS!!

It's always great to get the win and the Cavs did what they had to do to get it but this is not the way they need to play. Right from the start I didn't like the way they were playing tonight. LeBron seemed to get caught up in the hype and the talk of Kobe's game. He dominated the ball and which led to stagnant offense and stagnant play all around for stretches. This isn't the way LeBron plays when he's at his best and the way the Cavs need to play to be at their best. Id rather not see 1 on 5 basketball and LeBron having to play 44 minutes to hold on to beat a team like the Knicks.

Not to take anything away from LeBron's night and numbers. He is phenomenal. The Cavs are just better and can handle opponents better when there's more player and ball movement and more people get involved. I do think it's just one of those nights and the important thing is getting a win.

im going to repeat what Jigo_oi said "the offense was not the problem, it was the defense" if you really want to argue that lebron went 1 on 5 all game then you have to admit that the offense worked really well as not only did the cavs score 107 points but lebron had one of the best offensive lines in recent memory. the reason the game was close was because the cavs defense was just slow to react and not closing out. though it was the second game of a back to back on the road for a game the knicks were pumped up to play. That said no excuses the cavs should have won by 15. but ill take the win.

The master of making adjustments played LeISO for every minute he was in the game. That's not making adjustments, that's competing with Kobe in the greatest city in the world. He was there to put on a show. And because of that, we were in a VERY close game with a Knicks team we should've beaten by at least 15. He went outside of what has worked this season, and against a good team we would have been slaughtered.

lol what? big part of the reason we were in a close game because al harrington was scorching hot and burning defenders left and right.

on the real, the knicks played an overall damn good offensive game...as opposed to lebron's "showmanship" being the reason the game was close.

gracias senor.

I just got back from watching the game in an online chat and all the kobe fans were whining saying "O, when LBJ scores 81 then I'll be impressed","LBJ just pads stats", "LBJ is a media creation, Kobe can get a triple double anytime he wants". It was making my ears bleed I had to leave...

I don't get how people are claiming that LeBron "getting his" was the problem tonight. It was VERY, VERY clear to me that the issue out there was the REST of the team not playing good defense.

Noone could guard Harrington tonight, our rotations weren't always crisp, and the Knicks were hitting a decent amount of jumpers.

LeBron getting his line had NOTHING to do with our defensive performance. Not that this is even a big deal...I just don't get what the hell some of you are thinking.

Our frontcourt defense has looked porous the last few games ... here's hoping it's the catalyst for a trade (Brand, Camby, etc.) ... fingers crossed!

Harrington tonight, O'Neal and Bosh last night ... yuck. These were ugly wins, they can certainly do better than this.

first off dope user name, welcome to RCF.

but yeah that's what kobe condoms do....attempt to discredit lebron around every turn because they're a) threatened by his greatness at such a young age and b) bitter that he is the face of the league and not kobe.

Don't forget about the part where he isn't in a major/marketable city. The horror!

lmao it really puzzles me as well. no one is saying lebron is beyond reproach because he's the franchise but let's limit that to WARRANTED criticism shall we?

the defense tonight is pretty much a mirror image of what i've seen for the past few weeks, our rotations aren't crisp like they were six weeks ago, we're not closing out on shooters fast nough and the interior has been on the soft side.
