I love all the little band-aid 'win' now moves the FO and coaches have been throwing out there since the offseason just so Gilbert can save face.:chuckles:
Personally I prefer the pairings of Thompson/Hawes and Bennett/Zeller.
So regardless of who starts, those pairings look best to me.
I think we also need to see how Hawes plays with Irving, hopefully Waiters soon, and even Deng. To gauge his value to this team.
I'm pretty wary of Hawes being our long term starting C. But I'm probably more wary of it being Tyler Zeller. And I really like Zeller.
As an aside, I basically view every big on this team as a good/great third big. :chuckles: Varejao, Hawes, Zeller, Thompson. I think Bennett probably has the most upside so I can see him being a starter.
I don't know how much more Jarrett Jack I can take. When Dion and Cj got hurt my first thought (well I guess second thought after the initial being pissed) was hopefully getting to see some Karasev finally. Nothing will convince MB to let this kid play.
I agree completely on this, even it feels like the band-aid strategy described above. I wish the Cavs had prioritized "let's look at this key set of players trying to coexist" at other times this year, which hasn't been obvious throughout the year.
