Game Thread | Game #11 | Cavs @ Kings | Nov. 9, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Lost this game before it began. Kings were screwed in their last game when the Warriors were gifted a win and Sacramento filed complaints. As you could see, we received the punishment with one-sided calls all game.

That said, Cavs sunk to their level with some sloppy play. The offensive sets were awful. They gave the refs every reason to give the game to the Kings.

This team is not scary when garland plays like pre-breakout garland. Then it’s the DM show and everyone else. Levert was noticeably better than Garland. Hope he recovers/figures his shit out sooner rather than later. Late game missed free throws in back to back games are unlike him. Maybe he should take more time to recover the eyelid? Don’t think anyone likes what they’re seeing from him. If his offense ain’t bringin it, it certainly ain’t his defense that will get it done.

Great idea.

Man, for a person you would think would be level headed and logical with that analytical mind, you're pretty emotional.

Not clutch because of the first 3-4 games playing this season?

You don't bench him unless he is absolutely dogging it or throwing things intentionally. You let him play through it, get his rythym back, and learn how to play better in late games(he had SEVERAL late assists tonight but lets just forget all that) until the team is well oiled.
He shot terribly in the clutch last year as well. 37% from the field and 24% from three. He just doesn't respond well to the increased physicality, trapping, ball pressure, and emotional pressure that comes with those late-game stretches. When it happens time and time again, it's hard to ignore the trend.

Teams are going to continue forcing the ball out of Mitchell's hands and daring the other guys to beat them.

We're not a great team.

Yet

He basically stopped shooting, JBB should get in his ass for that.
That wasn’t the problem. The problem was that his eye is so f’ed up, he started throwing the ball to the guys in the other jerseys.

Top reasons we lost

1. Team Defense - Pathetic
2. Darius Garland - Self explanatory
3. Kevin Love - Looked like he had cement boots on on defense. That outlet pass in the 4th that got stolen shifted the game. I believe we were up 6, on a run, with possession. Instead it's a turnover and 2 made FTs for the Kings.

We ended up with 18 turnovers, about 8 too many.

I said the only path I saw to a King's victory was for them to shoot the lights out and us to turn the ball over. Sadly, I was 2-2.

Kings closed with a 9-1 run. We couldn't score when we needed to and we couldn't stop when we needed to.

Young teams are frustratingly inconsistent. We have the rest of the season to get it straightened out. before the playoffs.

Cleveland Cavaliers Sacramento Kings
PTS120 127
REB 51 33
AST 24 30
STL 4 12
BLK 1 4

3P% 42.3 43.6
FT% 85.0 85.7

Find me a game when all three of Darius, Caris and Donovan started and all 3 had a positive +/-

(you cant do it)

They are 2-2 and in the two wins, one of the 3 always has a negative

While the best playmaker for our reserves each night is Kevin Love from the midpost. This is elementary. But we insist on forcing a square peg into a round hole. Just like TT at PF and just like Collin Sexton at SG.

Bring Levert off the bench and we win the Clippers game and this game going away.

Part of this is an adjustment period for this team. They have gone from the hunter to the hunted and the last few games have come out flat.

They need to get used to playing with intensity and purpose from the tip, something they will with more experience together.

That Kings team is complete ass too.
They're actually not.

5 of their 6 losses have been by 7 points or less(3 by 3 points or less) and they are now 4-2 in their last 6.

We should have played better and won no doubt, and they are not a great team by any stretch but it's not a suck team the way they've been before.

You can do better than this.

Lauri Legend would have dropped 50 on these Kings and flew the plane to the Warriors game.
