That's as ugly as it gets, but I'll take it. The Cavs clamped down in the second half defensively, holding the Pistons to 36 points after they got 56 in the first half.
The Cavs were 3-for-21 on 3's after three quarters but hit five 3's in the 4th. They pulled out of their funk just in time, going 5-for-7 from deep. That was the difference, along with the defense.
Mitchell came through in crunch time with 14 points in the 4th. Garland was 4-for-19 and normally we have no chance when he has a game like that, but luckily Detroit was missing four starters or this would have been a loss. The Cavs have been lucky with opponents' injuries recently.
The Pistons, who lead the league in made free throws per game, missed 12. The Cavs caught a break. The Cavs were 28-for-33 from the stripe.
With Allen and Love out Mobley played 40 minutes with 20 points and 13 boards. He definitely deserved some JYD consideration, along with Mitchell. Okoro played some great defense down the stretch, forcing some missed shots and grabbing rebounds. He was a team high +14. He hit a huge 3-pointer early in the 4th to get the Cavs going. Next thing Wade hits one and then Mobley.
I hope Allen can go tomorrow. And that Siakam is out.
