Game Thread | Game #5 | Cavaliers @ Celtics | Oct. 28, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I just got done watching the game, and holy shit.

I real feel bad for Okoro, in 5 minutes he lead the team with a -12 +/-...insanely bad. He is basically unplayable right now.

Wade defended Tatum well. I know Tatum scored 32, half the time Wade was one him, but Tatm had to work hard for the points, thus didnt work on defense and Tatum was a -10. That shit doesnt show up, but he was my junk yard dog today, did all the little things. Great Game by Wade. @Comeback kid

Mitchel abused Marcus Smart Mr DPOY. Abused him, like made him his bitch. Like Smart still has the taste of Donavans dick in his mouth, and that taste will stay there for week.

Great game by our baby. Mobley was defending all over the place, efficient on offense and actually rebounded, did some boxing out...maybe Love is teaching him.

But the mike drop of the night belings to LeVert. My man just dicked the whole city of Boston

Oh yeah, and all Allen did was lead the team in +/- with and impressive +25.

So that is fun, anytime you can go to Boston and Ass rape the entire team its a great day in my book. And I know, a bit of an agressive write up, but so the fuck what, our Cavs deserve it for an aggresive win.

Just watched the 3rd quarter. We definitely came out with an attitude and took the lead, briefly. Good play by LeVert and Mitchell.

Did anyone watch closely the defense they played on Tatum in the second half? He had 6 points in the 3rd, 0 in the 4th (!!!!!), and only 2 in overtime.

I need the x's and o's of how this happened. Was it x's and o's?

Honestly, they had Wade on him allot in the 2nd half. Wade had no energy left for offense, but he still spaced the court becuase of his ability to shoot

All right, I went back and watched how they defended Tatum in the 4th quarter. Boston kept him on the bench until about 6 minutes left. So that partially explains 0 points.

In those 6 minutes, yeah, Wade was guarding him man-to-man. Would not give him any space to shoot or receive the ball. Had a hand on Tatum's hip or waist almost the entire time. Either Tatum wasn't taking the game too seriously (he looked sluggish and didn't move with any urgency) or that was incredible defense by Wade.

Didnt have the numbers but feel like the trend has been the other team going on a run whenever Okoro checks in, guess I was right

Yeah, I kept wondering where the hell he was. Odd that they sat him that long. JBB got Donovan back in ASAP.

Dean Wade is an excellent defender. He doesn't bite on fakes and his defensive stance is very solid. He is also a solid rebounder. It's gonna be interesting to see who becomes the starting 3 for this team. I'm still firmly on the Wade train, but his LEvert's performance might have sealed it. Shot attempts and touches are going to be hard to find with that group.

After giving up an insane 75 points in the first half (most the Celtics have scored in the first half in 15 years) the Cavs held them to 39 in the 3rd and 4th quarters and 9 in OT. Great halftime adjustment.

As Mitchell said, in the second half "we got way more physical and lived with the foul calls".

I was arguing prior to the season that Wade should be starting at the 3. The last three games he played 21, 30, and 39 minutes. The last four games Okoro's minutes were 27, 20, 11, and 5.

I think Wade is going to continue to get minutes guarding the opponent's best scoring wing, like Tatum last night. It looks like they want to make him proficient in on-ball defense against big wings and corner 3-point shooting. That's all they need from him.

So far he's at 56.3% on 3's and the defense is there - he was a +20 last night. We'll take that all day long.

Once Garland is back Dean won't be getting 39 minutes, but I think he is earning himself a spot in the rotation. He brings a defensive element we don't get from Love or Cedi.
