Getting Rid of Cable- What am I missing?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If Vue had BBC America I would jump all over it.

With ATT enforcing data caps now, which seems like nothing more than a money grab from cord cutters, anyone here have TWC internet and is it any good in Cleveland? Im most likely switching over to them since they dont have data caps, and probably wont for awhile since the merger.

How much streaming/downloading do you plan on doing?
I just got U-Verse Internet a month ago and just got the email about a usage allowance. I'm allowed 50GB and then there's a charge if I go over that, which isn't likely. 50GB is a lot. I do have PlayStation Vue/Netflix/Amazon Prime and HBONow. I'd be shocked if I went over 50GB.

I stuck with TW after cutting the cord mostly for the reason that they don't have a data cap. Extreme internet was pretty legit. I since dropped it down to turbo because my promotion expired. I have noticed a drop in quality, but nothing to piss me off really yet.

Regarding usage, I just checked my usage for this month. I am currently at 53GB (note, I was also on vacation for a week). This includes usage from me and my girlfriend. I wouldn't consider myself a heavy streamer. Probably use my FireTV an average of 1-2 hours a day.

We do a lot of streaming since switching to PS vue and cancelled DTV. I have my ps4 and fire tv hard wired, but two fire sticks are also hooked up for Vue and prime, as well as our phones. In total 6 devices are on wi fi, with 2 hard wired.

I got concerned because yesterday ATT shows usage and 10 days into our cycle, I was over the limit of 600 GBs. When I called them they not to be worried since I didnt recieve any notifications about usage and their might be issues with the tracking, but I dont want to risk it.

If you're talking about the Comcast/TWC merger, that's not happening.

Well, I looked at my usage. Didn't realize my plan was for 600GB per month. I guess I'm golden.

I see Charter/BrightHouse/TWC are merging now. Gotta love the assbackwards ideas of the FCC.

Can't let 1 and 2 merge, would limit competition too much.

But we can let 2, 3, and 4, merge together.

Charter was one of the first to implement data caps, but under this Spectrum branding, they are claiming to have no data caps.

Yeah, I asked TWC about it, said they are still offering no data caps, switching over to them next month. ATT solution for the data cap was getting DTV back after I cancelled it last month lol. Ill end up getting a higher speed at a cheaper price by switching too so its a win/win.

I'm thinking about cutting out cable and getting Vue. Does anyone have it? What device do you use to run it? It has Regional Fox Sports on it right?

My only hold up is the huge up front costs since I would have to buy a device to run each TV and wouldn't be saving too much money until the Time Warner promotion is over to which I could then get Vue.

I have Vue and run it off of my PS3. It has Fox Sports (local). It's pretty reliable for the price. I can't believe how much I wasted on Cox cable. Vue has On Demand too, so I don't miss out on my shows.

You say Vue has Fox Sports (local)... so... I'm assuming "local" means where you are at the moment? Is it based on your billing address?

I'd like to get FSO here in Los Angeles, and I'm wondering if that's possible using this method.

I see when you prepay for Sling for 3 months, you get a free Roku and Sling also has local Fox Sports and ESPN when paying for their $40 package. I might go that route to get the Roku for free and switch to the $35 Vue package after that. Did you have Sling before Vue? Any differences in quality if you did?

Yes you would get your local LA Fox Sports stations and wouldn't get FSO. Here is the link that shows the channels. You just have to make sure your location is set to where you live. https://www.playstation.com/en-us/network/vue/

So I have that Contour thing on Cox. Anywho, when I click on the contour button you can choose any of the premium channels and you can watch the first episode of anything for free or subscribe to the channel. My wife wanted to get HBO and Showtime to watch some series she was interested in. Long story long, we watched the first episode of Westworld for free....at the end it said do you want to watch the next episode, so we clicked on it...then we watched the next and next. I can do this with any premium network and watch any series for free. Just started watching Ballers and did the same thing. Only minor problem is when you want to pick up on watching it again you need to cursor through the first X amount of episodes you've watched and pick up on the episode where you left off...takes a couple mins tops. There's really no reason buy any of these premium channels that I can think of...I can watch anything I want for free.

Anybody try Hulu Live TV? Is it any good? How does it comparing to Sling TV in terms of quality?
