Gooden/JTerry Rumor

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
i like this trade alot ....and by the way for the guy who hated on my reggie evans suggestion...Reggie evans would be an excellent fit for our starting lineup if we aquired Jason Terry....Our lineup would be
pg terry
sg hughes
sf lebron
pf evans
C z

and our bench would have snow, newble marshall and AV coming in .....Im not saying that reggie is better than Marshall but Marshall would be our scoring punch off of the bench and Reggie evans would be our rough rugged defender and rebounder in the starting line up, which makes more sense than have 5 offensive oriented guys in the starting lineup and have 5 defensive oriented guys on the bench

and if the trade i read about Flip Murray for Earl Watson really goes through than that could increase our chances at landing Reggie Evans becaue they wouls need another sg/sf to come off the bench and Luek is just the man to do it...reunite Luke with Luke Ridnour

The Evans idea is a solid one mixed with the Terry trade. It does allow for a nice mix, both starting and off the bench.

One problem though we'd have is both Terry and Evans will be free agents come seasons end, and I'm sure both would be looking to at least match their current deals.

well Karma your def right (as usual) Im sure we could get Terry locked up for our mle but Reggie is only making 1.1mil this year and im sure he wants a raise

I want Danny Fortson..

Risk ? Yes, but I want Forston laying someone on their ass when they come into the paint...

God i totally agree.. i really do not like Danny fortsen i really dont but man it would be very nice ot have someone comitted to playing defense and playing hard on that end of the court....that said i still dont like himbut i would take him

When someone gets Snow or Damon off the dribble they don't say gee...Im not sure if I want to go in the paint they are like WAHOOO baby. If we had a bruiser they'd be more of a hmm I wonder If I can nail a jumper and prolong my life/career lol

go this from brian for those that missed it.

I did say that on the air, but it was in a
hypothetical sense. I was saying the Mavericks are a
team that likes Gooden and Terry is in the last year
of his contract and Devin Harris is ready to take
over.

I said that was the type of deal that Cavs would be
looking for with Gooden, but that you've got to be
careful trading a big for a small.

Again Mac, nobody thinks AV should start. Secondly, no way in hell do we back track and bring in Diop the flop.

Back track? Are you seirous? Diop would be an excellent addition to our team.

Take off your hate blinders.

I dont know what you are smoking, but facts are facts. Diop is a defensive force off the bench. #3 in the NBA in blocks per 48 min, he doesnt shoot horribly bad and he plays solid defense, which is exactly what we need. Not to mention he has great size.

You can hate him all you want, he proved you so wrong so far this season. Not only did he surpass the ten minutes a night that i argued, he is playing 17 min a night and doing damn well at it to.

Id take Diop playing 15 min a night at back up C over Henderson anyday of the week.

Just admit you are wrong...i understand you have hatred for him, but he is sitll a quality back up.

A trade for Terry might be more likely next summer than it will be during this season. I can't see Dallas breaking up their team right now and giving up a key player who gets big minutes at an important position.
I could see some type of sign and trade deal next summer that would allow the Cavs to acquire Terry.

Terry is probably the most talented PG who will be available before next season. I think he'd be a very good fit with the Cavs. His PG ability has always been underrated and he seems to get referred to as a combo G a lot. He's also a pretty solid defensive player too. It would be a nice change to have a complete player as the starting PG.

i have to agree with mac on this, diop hasnt by any stretch of the imagination played like an 8th overall pick but he is a guy sho can play well off the bench.

the only reason why i wouldnt want diop over henderson is his contract.

I will not admit that Diop is a "quality" backup, because that is a bogus claim. If he was a "quality" backup why we he be thrown into a trade like this as a filler?

Is the Diop you want the guy who has scored zeron points in the last 4 games and commited 14 fouls. Quality written all over it. I understand he has some defensive abilities just through his sheer size but it starts and ends there.

I would prefer to see DJ Mbenga or Pavel brought in then a guy who admitted not putting the effort in. Why would you want a player like that?

It is not a false claim. His performance on the court has merited him being a quality backup.

With the coaching staff that basically gave him no chance to do anything, what kind of effort was to be expected of him? I cant blame Diop for that, Ive been in that situation, when the coach already has his mind made up that he isnt going to paly you, than it's kind of hard to be motivated.

We need a legit big man, and the Mavs wouldnt do the deal, I was speaking hypothetically sp?

Mac, I know it was hypethetical, I was just stating why would we give this guy his 1000th chance here. He was given ample opportunity and he did say he did not put the effort forth. Anyways I'd prefer Mbenga or Pavel anyways.

Diop may be performing in Dallas, but I wouldn't want him here, I think theres too much bad blood there. No one here really liked him, only got limited minutes, never made much of them. At the same time, he didn't like anything about here.

He gets to Dallas and its like hey, I'm in the NBA, I'm making millions of dollars, and I'm tall. Maybe if I lose some fat and work a bit I could block some shots and commit some fouls, and hey there you go. He even gets some close shots which he makes as a bonus.
