According to 92.3, Haslem came out during practice, talked with Gordon, then Pettine, then Farmer. This was during drills, so they speculated that perhaps Haslem was just given some info.

Yeah, I was there. That's me wearing #24. I overheard most of the conversation. Basically Jimmy was telling Gordon that the key is to have your buddies take the fall for your mistakes. Pay them off if you have to, but let them take the blame while you claim to "know nothing".

Browns lining up support for Gordon if he’s suspended

The Browns are still waiting to hear on Josh Gordon’s appeal of his indefinite suspension.

But they’re putting plans in place now to make sure he’s supported by some form of a team if he loses.

According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Browns are making sure Gordon’s not drifting alone if he is suspended.
“First and foremost, we care about our players,” owner Jimmy Haslam. “We want our players to take care of themselves and make good decisions. We’re going to do everything we can to support him. At the same time, the players have to understand they’re accountable to themselves, to their teammates, to the front office and to our fans. People have to understand that, and I’ll leave it at that.”

They helped him find a rehab facility after his DWI in North Carolina in July, and have reached out to other nearby substance abuse professionals, including former Cavaliers coach John Lucas.

Lucas was a former NBA star who struggled with substance abuse issues, but has since become a counselor for those in similar situations, who previously worked with Cardinals safety Tyrann Mathieu.

The story also notes that Gordon has tested negative for drugs 70 times since he joined the Browns, which lends some context to the argument over the difference in his A and B samples, which is the basis of his appeal.

Well it looks like we know what Haslam was talking to him about. I am sure if someone knew the suspension length it would of been leaked by now. Lets hope this kid can turn it around.

It's horrible if it's a year, like mention already I'm sure, he's suspended for a full year! Not 16 games, meaning no OTAs, no preseason at this juncture. This is BS if it's a full year, knowing this could and should have happen much sooner.

No way in hell it's a full year. The NFL just got so much shit for Rice's shit ban. If they take this long and suspend him for a whole year so he misses so much next year, they wil get even more hell.

Gordon deserves a suspension. The Browns don't deserve this if it's a full year.

I like Charles Johnson, but he isn't replacing Gordon's production. Neither is Miles Austin, or anybody else for that matter.

If this is, which I doubt, a full year.. This offense will be in a lot of trouble. Even with 8 games, which I expect, the offense is in a lot of trouble.

At this point in the process, I expect the Browns to ride it out. Hopefully Gordon is only gone 4 weeks, or if the luck that this city has been having rubs off and, he gets no games.

Think Jets 2009 as far as offense goes.

Lots of running. Lots of grind it out type games.

I think the Jets leading receiver that year was Cotchery with 800ish yards. And then Keller with about 500.

They had a dominant defense and powerful running game.

As for Gordon, I'm feeling 8 games.
