The problem is if they only reduce his suspension they're admitting that the old threshold was stupid and they are adjusting his suspension kinda sorta based on the new amendment -- where he would have never failed the test, which means he shouldn't be suspended. This is an amendment to the CBA, with the effective date being the beginning of the contract year -- which is March 16, 2014. So, this Agreement changes nothing that occurred prior to that date. And as of March 15, JG was in violation of the league drug policy and awaiting punishment. So that's exactly where he should be when the new contract hits.
The punishments are changed as of March 16, so when this Agreement gets ratified retroactive to March 16, his punishment has to be consistent with that new policy.
No, I do understand that. I thought reports were that all players started with a "clean slate". If anyone was still facing any suspensions, wouldn't it be for Performancing Enhancing Drugs, not just a drug?Well, you're comparing first time offenders to a guy whose failed about 6-8 drug tests in two years.....
People really need to understand this.
Alright, enough with the he's a kid stuff. He knows the fucking rules. And he's fucking 23. He's just a moron. And with the effort he showed during preseason, and at the practices I've been to, he can go fuck off. I just don't like his attitude. Of course I want our best player to be out there but he needs to grow up first. And not that it matters or that I care, but gordon passed me up on the freeway the other day, and he was going 120, at the minimum. Dude zipped past everyone. He obviously just has zero regard for rules. No doubt Gordon is an idiot, But he is a 23 year old kid that did kid like stupidity.
What is Goodell's reasoning and the rest of the staff for being utterly stupid and unfair?
The agree the old testing standard is unfair, are willing to retro his test because of a week or two?
I would be less pissed if he had remained suspended for 16 games. Complete lack of professionalism by the league.

He did break the rules. But they just changed the rules and still fucked him over on a technicality.
I was fine with the year long suspension. It sucked, especially since he was just barely over the ridiculously low testing threshold, but it was the rules. Only now the rules are saying he wouldn't have tested positive at all, so why the fuck is he still going to miss eight games? It's bullshit.
Agreed, I think it's stupid too but the thing is wasn't it an indefinite suspension before? Not just a year. So, by him coming back this year even if it is for just 4 games or whatever, we kind of eliminate all the BS of getting him reinstated right at the start of next season and stuff. It's not great, but, it still helps us out I guess.
