Gordon suspension reduced to 10, 12 if convicted of DWI

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
A lot of this smells very fishy to me.

I don't thinks it's a coincidence that Gordon was getting let off the hook completely.... until the new Ray Rice video came out. Then rumors started swirling that Gordon would still face a suspension. And almost definitive word comes out that he will serve a 10-12 game suspension nearly the same time news leaks that Peterson beat his kid.

It sounds like Josh Gordon was a PR move, but now that this other shit is too big to sweep under the rug... they don't view Gordon as a valuable pawn in their propaganda schemes and now are fucking the kid because they can.

Personally I'd understand a year long suspension. I'd understand him getting let off the hook. I don't understand this bullshit 10-12 game suspension. It makes no sense and reeks of bullshit. It's the NFL illustrating they are pompous and arrogant and will do whatever the fuck they want.

FWIW, MKC said Gordon is in the 3rd phase. 10 games is for the 4th step.. I just want clarity.. We'll get it this weekend.

Wonder if they've re-distributed those pads yet..

But she also said that he's already been informed of the 10 game suspension.. we may find out why it's 10 this weekend, but I don't expect anything less than 10 games

Meh. Folks are still missing the obvious- the NFLPA went to bat for the other suspension guys but not the multiple offender. Cleveland Browns fans want to see Gordon get off, but apparently his own union doesn't. What does that say? Yes, he is just a kid- like every single other member of his draft class and every single draftee since and they haven't managed to fail the drug test 3 different times and for different reasons. I don't see how he is being 'screwed' because he couldn't le something every other NFL player seems to have figured out. More excuses for a grown man.

We also lose the year of his contract that he would have retained under the old rules.

So basically, we lose a year of control for 4 games.

Forgot about that. Fuck.

I mean, it's not like we can't afford to keep him right, though? The guy is an outstanding talent but he's hardly been on the field to show it off due to suspensions. I'd like to think we'll be retaining him long term. Not putting the cart ahead of the horse obviously.

It'll come down to a few things, but the Browns can franchise him if they want. One thing that will be a big deal will be what happens if he fails another test? How about 2? It'd be embarrassing for him to fail another, but honestly, it's likely.

Secondhand smoke and cough syrup. :whogives:

Well look at it this way.. The reason the Seahawks are such a straight up dominant team is because their star QB is only making $800k.. Once wilson gets paid their team will not be nearly as stacked. If you have a superstar and difference maker on his rookie contract it's best to get full use out if that and stack the team up around him. Losing a year of his rookie deal is not good. Once he and cameron get paid there's a lot we won't be able to afford. There are a ton of starters for us making very little money, less than they're worth.. This might be the peak of our raw talent in the near future. We need to field a winning culture now. We're not going to be able to upgrade much at all going forward. Flexibility is important while you got it

The better question that has yet to be asked is why has Greg Hardy not been punished like Ray Rice. You could argue Hardy committed a worse crime then Rice.

Hardy was convicted too, rice wasn't. So it technically is worse than the rice situation. I don't understand either.

I thought he plead guilty and then changed his plea after saying he was not guilty.

And rice agreed to a deal, but he admitted guilt. Not that it mattered, he was on tape.

That's not the reason it's worse you should watch the OTL report on it shit is 80x worse than Rice. Dude is like 6'7 and was tossing her around like a rag doll. Seriously pisses me off that he not in jail.

If Hardy is convicted he might be. They're awaiting the jury trial right now.
