Wait. I thought under the new rules he will be under the limit and hence can not be suspended. Is that wrong ?
If Hardy is convicted he might be. They're awaiting the jury trial right now.
These rule changes apply to the 2014 league year and beyond. Gordon failed the drug test during the 2013 league year. Technically the league didn't have to reduce his suspension at all, and some tweets said that some players didn't want to reduce his suspension. So the amount of games he's being suspended for is based on the new policy, but the threshold for marijuana in his system is being based off the old policy? Incredibly dumb.
I'm sure some players don't want to see any suspensions reduced because they'd rather not have to play against those players. These rule changes apply to the 2014 league year and beyond. Meh. Folks are still missing the obvious- the NFLPA went to bat for the other suspension guys but not the multiple offender. Cleveland Browns fans want to see Gordon get off, but apparently his own union doesn't. What does that say? Yes, he is just a kid- like every single other member of his draft class and every single draftee since and they haven't managed to fail the drug test 3 different times and for different reasons. I don't see how he is being 'screwed' because he couldn't le something every other NFL player seems to have figured out. More excuses for a grown man.

6 game suspension for first time offenders and lifetime ban for 2nd time offenders doesnt seem to match that conclusion. He's only a multiple offender because the NFL decided to punish him for shit he did before he got in the league. I know people think the "he's a kid" excuse is bullshit, but I think it's fair for the stuff in college when he was definitely a dumb, young kid.
Once he gets in the NFL, sure, he should know better. But I don't think it's fair to hold those ones against him.
If the NFL is really using Gordon as their example that they are tough on crime, then they are truly missing the point on the PR nightmare they currently find themselves in. Reefer madness has ended in America, but Rodger seems to be stuck in the '50's, when pot was bad but beating on women was A-OK.
If Gordon comes back and we can somehow nab 4 of those final 6 games...?
That's asking for... let's face it... a lot. But we play the Bills as well as the Colts/Bengals at home (less than perfect opponents).
We'd then need to steal a couple from either the Panthers, Ravens, and/or Falcons.
The Bills should be a game we can win. Not easily, but win.
The Colts/Bengals are going to be tough, but they are at home and look what that did to NO (had to call 2 TO's b/c of noise and were clearly bothered)
Panthers same as Bills. Have to stop their run game w/Newton though.
Ravens we will see how we play them this week, but it is going to be a 50/50 game I feel
Falcons, good offense. But we have Haden and hopefully Gilbert keeps getting better for Roddy White. Their Defense is awful so as long as we can put up some points, I don't see why we can't beat them.
Sucks it's a year that we have some injuries (does it really count at RB w/Tate? Look how well we are doing at running the ball) but with Gordon/Cameron. But our schedule is easy. And you know damn well they will give us another tough one next year, so we have to take advantage this year.
