Well its better to get the surgery done now, then to have him seriously injure it down the road. I'd take him outta there now so we can have him ready to go come playoff time.
Mabey it's time to really push for that Ron Artest trade.
Either that, or sign Latrell Sprewell to fill in his void til he returns.
I really don't trust what we have left at SG. Ira/Sasha/Luke/Damon could all play that position, but I really don't want to see that for an entire 2 month period.

I agree completely.
Damon and ira are good in situations. Damons up and down, he's good for wide open 3's.
Luke and sasha haven't shown much this year to give us hope.
I wish we had a veteran guard who could score come off the bench. Sprewell, I would take in a heartbeat.

Well this is Damons chance to prove he is a starter again, seeing that his fan club keep bring that up about last season. Not a good start tonight, but we really require something at the 2 spot.

It's hard to estimate how much this is going to hurt the team, but, my guess is that it will have a significant impact on our overall game. Much more than some may think ...he's the kind of player that glues a team together and nobody on this team can come close to filling that hole. My guess is Ira will get significantly more minutes because he will maintain the defensive moindset we are trying to meld throughout the team, and we can't go strong to Damon Jones as Hughes' replacement without seriously damaging the progress that this team needs to continue to make as a defense oriented playoff style team. If Jones were to get those minutes, he would adversely effect everything we are trying to do ....if anything, what I feel needed done as the season progressed was a slow tapering off of Jones minutes in favor of players that bring efort to the defensive end, and towards the teams goals of gradually forming into a playoff caliber team, with the right style of play. Damon Jones simply doesn't play to that style.... so, this injury will be a real trial for this team to overcome ....with Ira we don't lose anything defensively, but, offensively we lose that second option to create off the dribble ...and that will hurt significantly. I think we kep Damon's role the same for the time being and use a mix of either Luke or Sasha while Hughes recovers ...

yep, got to go after one of the guys mac listed.
however if the cavs continue to play d like they are playing tonight the games we have to play without larry will not be as tough to win.

Mac you went overbaord with calling LeBron the worst defender. No need to hate because of the hype. He has been solid this past fortnight which is a start. Damon though is a problem in the starting five if we are looking at setting a defensive mindset. Losing Hughes means we lose some offense that Jones can provide. Its a tough situation. I can imagine what Jones would be like if we started Ira over him after his sulking when Snow was chosen. This is when we would like to have some trust in Jackson or Pavlovic.
I cant see us signing anyone or making a trade to cover Hughes. I' think we'll just see different rotations set to suit each game individually. Tonight we were struggling to make stops in the backcourt, so if Jones isn't matching it at the other end, we'll see more of Wilks and Ira like tonight. But for now I see us sticking with Jones starting and see how he goes each night as to how much burn we give him.

What games have you been watchin Mac? Lebron has been solid in the defensive for the last month. He's not a great defender by any stretch but he looks to me average and can kick it up a notch to above average occasionally.
I would love to either Luke or Sasha actually given a real shot with Hughes out. No more 4 minutes PT.
Otherwise this really blows: Hughes game was really turning the corner and for the first time all season we were going to have our team at full strength with AV coming back: sucks particularly when you have 4 players comprising you're enitre backcourt make one FG for an entire game
