I think the best thing for me is to get a job and move out.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
There are threads on reddit (there's a trucking sub) that crowdsources everyone's income and commute etc.

A lot of drivers making around six figures with decent shifts. You should look at them

Great entree into serial murdering too.

Two categories here:

You’ve got your standard long haul truckers who aren’t serial murderers.

Then you’ve got your classic long haul truckers who are absolutely serial murders.
A driver that shops for parts at my dealership told a story about how he likes his women.

This is as close to verbatim as I can recall.

"I like my women the same way I like my coffee. Ground up in the freezer. I told this to a waitress and she left for about 7 mins, you know, the time it takes to rub one out."

Convinced he's a serial killer.

I just searched for "interstate serial killer" on YouTube...

Yikes.

Sounds like he shops for parts in restaurants too.

Considering the alternatives you've been looking at I think this one is a slam dunk.

Yes 84k is a decent living.

I do loans across the nation, its not just AZ, in fact i do very few AZ loans.

Across the nation truckers really dont make money. Not saying none do, but the shipping companies have ruined the business and exploited the truckers. 1099 trucking is a scam and most truckers are not good at being self employed. I see their taxes, they could make more money being a greeter at Walmart for the hours they put in.

Shipping companies didn’t ruin or exploit anything. Freight prices are a market, and supply and demand dictates pricing.

The people who have screwed up the trucker pay are the freight brokers, and even more so, the loss leaders for Silicon Valley who thought they could digitize the industry with their digital matching platforms. Look at Uber for example…they lose their ass trying to do a digital freight broker, driving driver pay into the dirt as they do it.

$85K is pretty good if one perhaps isn't needing to rent a place as well.

Many truck drivers get cats for companionship, as they say, a cat makes a home.
