If/When we do deal Wally...

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What man I mentioned ZR in a footer nothing more. I'm not wrong here that's my concern with Melo. I don't know the guy, his character, and I don't know LBJ. I do know people when they are around their friends though. I can't be wrong on an opinion so no i'm absolutely not. This is kind of laughable, because I meant that sarcastically to lol. I know he's not going to jail, but he could end up in trouble, miss some games, get injured (Monta).

No, he won't end up in trouble. Missing games and getting injured will not be effected by Melo unless that's the foot he lands on.

Your "opinion" can be wrong since you're claiming that Melo's presence could initiate a worse attitude or behavior from LeBron, and increase chances of missing games, etc. This is not only ridiculous, but wrong.

When you mentioned ZR it looked like that was your whole point. ZR is good, but Melo is an exception even though he is a cancer. I dismissed your point with facts and widely agreed upon opinions (Melo is on another level and ZR is much worse behavior wise).

Your concern is based on garbage, utter garbage. And the points you are making about Melo have been disproven. The fact is Melo is one of the NBA's best players, and next to LeBron they would be an unstoppable force.

wait it out for Bosh i say

patience will pay off

I never said Melo was not good **** i'd still take him despite my fear of him turning LBJ inside out. They would be unstopable. My opinion is not wrong, you can't have an incorrect opinion. You did not dismiss my opinion you have made yours quite apparent and I mine. That is it nothing else. I am sure that LBJ and Melo would be amazing together. Tell me in any of my posts have I mentioned that Zach and Melo are on the same level? Nope just that there is a double standard. You have not disproved any of my points with facts because there is no fact to back it up. For either of our opinions to matter we would have to actually get Melo and that is as far fetched as you saying you are using facts to dismiss my opinion.

1. That's my point, LBJ will not be influenced by Melo to become a worse person behaviorally because of Melo, that is your wrong opinion.

2. You never said Zach was on the same level, but you compared them as if we are denying great talent because of his behavior but not for Melo, as if they were on the same level.

3. It's not a double standard. It's looking at facts. Fact: Melo has averaged over 20 ppg his entire NBA career and he is still young. Fact: Melo has been in multiple All Star Games and the Olympics. Neither of these things can be said for Randolph. What does that add up to? Melo is a far superior player, and according to most sources Randolph has a worse character. That means Melo has a different situation than ZR.

Basically, as I said before, drop it. I don't believe you really have concerns about Melo's character if he came here, you just want to push your point with nothing backing it up so you don't look wrong.

BTW, this has been fun, thank you.

Well you don't have anything backing you up either. I definately didn't mean Zach was on the same level and why exactly do you keep bringing him up? The only thing better about ZR is that he can play PF/C and Melo could only play small minutes at PF if we needed him to.

Unless you can go out and bring LBJ back to this computer and tell me himself that Melo will not interupt him PT or ability then I will still worry about it. Melo has spent time under AI who isn't exactly a great role model.

I'm not sure you understand my point.

P.S this has been fun.

I hate AK47 contract but it makes the most sense right now.

1. He is 27 years old

2. Utah is looking to dump contacts(AK47) and bring in an expiring(wally)

3. They dont really need him, they have youth in Brewer and Almond

4. He is a great defender, blocks shots a lot

5. He is verstile SF or PF and could come of the bench if needed(most likley not)

6. can score and when he is hot is impossible to stop

7. has shown up in playoffs

8. needs change if sceniro IMO

9. When he is not playing with boozer and williams this guy is very very good. I rember watching a game when loozer and willaims were inactive and this guy came to the show. he was hitting shots and blocking shots like he was playing a whole bunch of college player. it was very fun to watch.

10.We need another scorer

some bad things though:
1. tends to get injured often

2. 6'9 PF or 6'9 SG where would we play him. IMO 6'9 PF complimants his game better and we need it more.

You brought up Zach and we've kind of gone back and forth on what I thought was a bad point, a double standard, which didn't work IMO. Melo is a much better player, and not a much of an interruption, so less of a problem and more of a solution.

And LeBron was the leader basically of the Olympic team this year. Are you telling me you are actually worried that Melo would get him mixed up some shit? If anything, I'd expect LeBron to make Melo work harder, defend more, and be a better role model. LeBron is that kind of guy based on everything I've seen of him.

Well after tonight mind you I didn't watch the game but there is just no room for another SF on our team. What would we move LBJ to play? SG? PF? Thats not a good thing to take him away from what he is good at. I actually never thought of the Olympic thing when we were talking about this good point.

Mdog1, you are totally wrong on the "melo rubbing off on Lebro" thing. Akronite is right and you kind of look silly trying to argue the point. Lebron is probably the best leader in the NBA dude. Lebron is ridiculously talented, but he never seems to talk down to his lesser teammates, never. For example, Wally is a terrible NBA player. This guy is annoying to watch on the basketball court. And I can assure you that alot of NBA stars wouldn't even want to play with this guy. Do you think Kobe would tolerate some of the silly plays that Wally and Sasha makes? Kobe bashed Bynum not to long ago and Bynum is almost a all-star. What do you think Kobe would say about Wally? Wally on a Kobe team WOULDN'T PLAY and it's that simple. The point I'm trying to make is that Lebron is a true leader because he never bashes his teammates or put them down for being a bad player. This means that Lebron is strong mentally. Therefore I don't see how you can make the comment about Melo rubbing off on lebron. LIke Akronite said, if anything Lebron would rub off on Melo. And the duo of Lebron and Melo would be simply to strong for any potential pitfalls. This is a no brainer and it's best if you just let this argument go because Akronite owns you on this one all day long.

I'm surprised to read this.

LeBron will never have to "slide" to the 2 spot in the sense that you're thinking. Remember that our offense is built on the premise that the 1-3 spots are interchangeable. Following that system, Carmelo would fit wonderfully because he's an incredibly dynamic scorer. The traditional idea for a SG is silly when you have that kind of talent. Mo - Melo - LeBron is disgusting for a backcourt. We'd have quickness, athleticism, size.. Good GOD imagine trying to box out those guys for offensive boards!

And I fully support the idea that LeBron would rub off Carmelo, not to mention the defensive culture of the club. Has Melo ever had a real defensive coach or played on a good defensive squad in his pro career? I don't think so. He's a slave to the blitz blitz blitz offense in Denver. He can't be blamed at all for not playing defense. Nobody else on that team does. And they traded the one guy that did. (Camby)

So NO, if Melo were to come to Cleveland, we'd be amazing offensively and a work in progress defensively, but that would most definitely improve. Just like I'm sure we'll see with Mo, the bad habits as Coach Brown says will be worked out.

ggnore.

What is the very last word supposed to mean?

I agree offensively we would be lights out and hopefully defense would come around. You are rightish about the 1-3 being interchangable but guarding the two is different than the three. I stil think we would dominate though.

ggnore = good game, no rematch.

Yep, defensively quicker shooting guards would give us problems, but I know come playoff time Coach would find a scheme around it.

But yea, I find Melo's recent behavior has been very much a product of his environment. A little guidance from a fellow superstar and people that would command his respect (LeBron) would go a long way towards helping him off the court.

Well and we do have a lot of high character guys. I mean DW, BW, Z, Boobs, AV, Wally, etc..... The thing is could he turn one of them bad, and then another, and so on. That would be one way to ruin the entire team. Don't even comment on that i'm just thinking aloud on the key board.

Let's face facts here. Gilbert and Ferry aren't going to go after somebody unless they are convinced he is a quality character guy who won't be a disruptive influence on the team. I mean think of their tenure here and can you think of even one questionable character guy they've acquired? Maybe I'm forgetting somebody but I can't think of a single one. Everyone they've acquired has been super solid in the character department. If they pursue Carmelo (if he's available) it's because they've done their homework and decided he is not a risk. If he comes here, he definitely WILL NOT be disruptive influence on LeBron.

And how can anyone possibly think that he would be influenced??? Has he given ANY indication that he is susceptible to peer pressure or the tendency to be blinded by his own superstardom? None whatsoever. LeBron has a maturity beyond his years. He understands his role as not just the leader of this team, but also as the face of the NBA. He has said that he wants to be an even bigger global icon than he already is. Moreover, he is a family man. To think that this INTELLIGENT (he graduated from St V/St M with a 3.75 GPA), MATURE, FOCUSED LEADER is going to do something to damage both his reputation and his future is beyond ludicrous.

Sorry, Mdog, but Akronite is right on this one.
