Iman Shumpert: Gone! Thank God!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We don't have both Mozgov and Love right now.
Well, we don't have JR either and you were suggesting a non-likely science experiment anyway...

So does anyone think Iman could give offensive performances like this on a more frequent basis if he started at SG?

Played his ass off tonight and have a winning effort.
Dude showed up.

Yeah, and I think he could continue starting if he does so well next game. Hard to say if Blatt will just try to get back to being as close to his regular starting lineup or not, but I thought Shump did a great job tonight and the second half of the last game after JR was ejected. Only thing that concerns me is that JR come off the bench may let him get into his old chucking habits, especially if LeBron is on the bench, whereas Shump shows restraint.

Shump did his job no doubt on all fronts tonight. Will need it again on Wed with nothing coming from JJ and Mike Miller...

Shumpert is a hell of a player, seeing his full offensive repertoire is beautiful to go along with his lockdown defense. I was thinking, if Iman got the minutes, he could be a really, really productive player numbers wise... We have to lock this guy up in the off-season.

I have heard people say the Cavaliers will probably prioritize Smith over Iman. I think that's crazy talk. We like JR. We'll take him back for the right price. Maybe JR is content with this situation, and whatever money we can give him.

I think our first priorities should be Tristan and Shumpert. If you want any hope going forward, lock up your defensive pieces. Timo making 5 million next year is an all-time value contract.

Andy is helping Timo out the same way that Zydrunas took care of Andy when he was young. Timo is probably going to get paid after next season.

Everyone realize JR has a player option, right? If he picks that option up I don't see us paying Shumpert too. Not if we plan on shelling out an ungodly amount of Tristan Thompson.

I can't see us just letting Shumpert go. That would be a huge void to fill if we just let him go. I see him as a core piece being that he is still so young and we desperately need athletic wing defenders.

Dan will pay them all.

He has all the tools to be our own long-term Bruce Bowen except he's more athletic and can score better.

This will be better for the offseason, but I'm not a fan of paying all of these guys just to pay them. If you're going ot win titles you have to find value, like the Spurs with Bellinelli and Danny Green. If we end up paying Thompson and Shumpert (who knows what Shumpert will get, so that could end up being a good number) it's going to make it hard to find value players like the Spurs have.

That said, I'd probably rather prioritize Shumpert over Thompson.

But we'll save this for the off-season.
