Iman Shumpert: Gone! Thank God!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Kind of apropos that his name means "faith" in Arabic since Griff and the Cavs put faith in him to shore up the perimeter D.

Iman rockin' the coolio look in the off-season

Skolnick's season-summarizing article- he does come up with some pretty interesting tidbits-

It was also easy to understand why (Lebron) James liked these three particular players, because, in personality and playing style, they were all suited to complement him well.

During an early December road trip that included a stop in Brooklyn, James had broken from custom to attend an NBA game as a spectator, watching the Knicks face the Trail Blazers. After Shumpert took a shot in front of him at Madison Square Garden, James told an associate he would love to have that type of three-and-D game on his team.

Shumpert is a perfect fit for this team.

More importantly, however, I think the playoffs showed us two things about him that you only learn in the playoffs:

This guy is tough. He's missed quite a flurry of regular season time in his career, but playing though pain isn't something he's afraid of. What he did to stay on the court in the finals is amazing.

He's also not afraid of the moment. Particularly in the Chicago series, when he needed to step up with an injured Love and suspended JR, he played his best basketball of the season.

He's the kind of guy you need on a championship team.
