There are things called balance and spacing. You can't take it inside every play, teams will pack it in. Just like in football teams will run to establish the pass, in basketball, hitting the outside shot will establish the penetration. Look at the progression in LeBron's jump shooting and his overall eFG%
Year Jump Overall
03-04 .356 .439
04-05 .396 .505
05-06 .420 .531
It's no coincidence that lebron has dramatically increased his percentage of inside shots since his jump shooting has improved.
I dont know what sport you are watching, but the point that he would take it to the rack everytime is exactly why it would make everybody better. Would it get packed? No, I doubt it. You can't leave Z, you can't leave Jones and you can't leave Hughes......they will all knock that shot down.
He needs to goto the rack 90% of the time, he should never shoot outside of 15 feet. And hitting the three does not open the penetration, the post players are more involved in that than the wings. Post players are leaving the paint because you can hit a three, that is why Z is so important. Because is a very good shooter, other post players have to follow him, which opens up the lane for penetrations.....but scoring down low opens up the three ball
It seems very simple to me...I dont get where the hold up is in your logic.
