It's grilling season.

If you don't mind throwing a little extra money at dry rubs, Penzey's is great. I made a trip to Memphis a few years back and brought a bunch of BBQ rubs back... but I'm starting to run out of those. Then my sister grabbed a gift pack of Penzey's rubs from the Cleveland location and I've experimented with their products ever since. I strongly suggest the jaimacan jerk and bouquet garni.

I used to live within walking distance of a Penzey's in Raleigh. Their Tandoori Chicken seasoning is incredible!

If I can remember, I will look when I get home for what I got as a gift. It was maybe 12 tin cans of different blends (e.g. - pork rub, asian rub, cajun rub), which was nice. As a broad-based recommendation, I would suggest you get a rub set without salt. It's a cheap ingredient and you can always add it yourself to your own preference, or you could get this: https://www.google.com/search?q=different kinds of cooking salt set&rlz=1C1CHFX_enUS584US584&oq=different kinds of cooking salt set&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l4.5300j1j7&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8#q=different kinds of cooking salt set&tbm=shop&spd=16559756922120930345

which looks pretty awesome too.

Yes. I always apply the salt separately and in advance of the rub.

Thank you.

Moving into an apartment that only allows electric grills.

Any recommendations without being super expensive?

We got this guy on Amazon for like $150 in the spring through Prime. It isn't bad for an apartment grill. We didn't want a giant one but needed big enough for when we have company, that would fit on our back enclosed porch. I have had no problems with it, using it many of times from Spring-->yesterday.

Has anyone on here cooked Pizza on the grill before? I heard it adds a ton of flavor to the pizza. If this was mentioned I apologize I haven't looked through this in awhile.

I cook pizzas on the grill all the time. They definitely taste better than baking.

BTW: There is one easy work around for electric outdoor grills. Buy applewood, hickory, and cedar planks. Soak a wood plank for about 30 minutes to an hour, place your meat on top of the plank and close the grill, and you can impart real wood smoke on an electric grill.
