Jacoby Brissett: Class Act

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You’re the guy that thought points per game was some complex ranking and that it was ‘made up’ from some analytic website. We have the 6th highest rush % in the league.

(Warning: free site)

The Browns have run a lot of ‘no huddle’ passing plays because they’ve been in a lot of late close games. It’s not rocket science guy. Just got back into your cave until Watson comes back since that’s why you joined in the first place.
Why do teams run no huddle?

Often times it's because of time constraints. They want to move quickly.

You know what moves the ball quickly in large chunks and stops the clock when it fails? Passing.

If we're going to look at no-huddle stats and complain they're pass-heavy, what the fuck are we doing here?

over Brissett's career:

less than 25 att: 6-4
more than 30 att: 7-18

Possible, but a 60/40 pass to run ratio leads me not to believe that, combined that the 21' season was plagued by these "close" games also.

The numbers you’re referencing aren’t even correct. The following is “complex” statistical analysis based on looking at easy to find statistics on a free site you’re probably referencing already. Despite what you believe to be happening, the facts show this years Browns are crushing the league in no-huddle run plays.

‘22 League-wide ‘no-huddle’
Rush Att: 506
Pass Att: 1032
Run %: 32.8%

‘22 Browns ‘no huddle’
Rush Att: 16
Pass Att: 29
Total Snaps: 45
Run %: 35%

‘21 League-wide ‘no-huddle’
Rush Att: 985
Pass Att: 2117
Run %: 31.7%

‘21 Browns ‘no huddle’
Rush Att: 20
Pass Att: 49
Total Plays: 69
Run %: 28.9%

Now go compare those numbers you have with trailing less than 4 mins and explain how what I was interpreting is incorrect

over Brissett's career:

less than 25 att: 6-4
more than 30 att: 7-18

This isn't as much of an insightful stat as you think it is.

Baker Mayfield
25 or less: 11-4 (.733)
More than 25: 19-30 (.387)

Josh Allen
25 or less: 11-3 (.785)
More than 25: 34-19 (.641)

Patrick Mahomes
25 or less: 5-0 (1.000)
More than 25: 50-15 (.769)

Aaron Rodgers
25 or less: 17-3 (.850)
More than 25: 125-68-1 (.644)

You will see similar numbers for every QB in the league. The less they throw, the better their record is.

Why? Because teams throw the ball more when they're behind and run the ball more when they're ahead. Same as it's always been since the advent of the forward pass.

Deshaun Watson
8-0 as a starter when attempting 25 passes or less
20-25 over 25 passes

I think last Monday showed that you don’t have to be named Baker Mayfield to beat up on Cincy when you are a Browns QB

He's been more than advertised, we are 0-10 (Baker, Dobbs, etc) with anybody else in this situation. The losses vs Jets and Falcons are games Stefanski and Woods want back because we weren't going 5-6 before Watson's return without those games in the bag.

JB is still very limited but he did his job right with this circus.

Yep.

The late throws deep downfield to Njoku and Cooper are areas where I think Watson makes us better.

But, there will definitely be throws and plays that Brissett has made that Watson won't at first. I'm incredibly impressed with Jacoby--and excited for the extra dimensions Watson's athleticism will bring.
