This has me light-weight outraged. I presume it was so that they could try to bring down an entire ring of pedos, but who makes that utilitarian equation and decision? And to your second point, Jared gets between 5-12 years?!? I mean what's the punishment for a big bag of weed? What's the punishment for punching someone in the face while drunk? This dude was penetrating KIDS. They better catch A LOT of dirtbags before this makes any sense.
 
Let's get back to Jared's weight... how soon until he is over 350? He's got to be putting back the pizza and meatloaf now that he isn't being paid to keep the weight off...

5-12 is what you would expect. First time offense. Bag of weed first time offense is probation to a year. Punching someone in the face first time is probation .

Long sentences are for class a felonies or multiple time losers.
 
Jared's life is over for all intents and purposes. Regardless of how much time he gets, i'm assuming he will be paying more in restitution than what has been reported with the civil trials that will follow. He will have child support and have to pay half of what he made while married to his now ex wife. He will be unemployable for the rest of his life, and nobody is going to want to do business with him if he tries to be self-employed. It isn't like he is some random creep that people won't recognize. The shame and humiliation that he will have to live with is the cherry on top.

Normally yes, but the world does not forgive for this type of stuff. He's ruined, forever. Oj couldn't even sell a book, no one forgave mj either.

Plus, the world is over that type of stuff and is placing value on virtues rather than outrageousness. Reality tv is dead.. Don't even hear about theatre shootings when they happen. columbine practically had its own network for a month

I seriously doubt that. He risks opening up a civil lawsuit from his victims doing that.

Same reason Casey Anthony can't get any book deals. How many people want to sink that low, and make money off such a thing?

You got to link your name/brand to that.
 
Gotta separate predators from pedos.
They're both literally sick.. The predators are normally mentally capable.. Most pedos have developmental issues.

I think the system is brutal on both, society even worse. There is no forgiveness for these crimes
