Joe "Captain America" Harris

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You can say such a thing when you may have a serious problem stopping people from scoring at the rim.

We get attached to rookies as fans. I get it.

The majority of our roster isn't going to be moved this year for various reasons. Joe is not on the untouchable list.

We thought Andrew Wiggins was untouchable.

I'm not attached to anyone, I don't know squat about Joe Harris other than he supposedly is a good spot up shooter. Never seen the guy play and have no emotional attachment to him.

I never said he is untouchable, in fact I believe I said he could be moved.

I'm looking at the flexibility his supposed skill set and contract affords this team. Nothing more, nothing less.

That's what Carrick Felix thought last year....

Exactly, because teams pass out 3 year guarantees to 2nd rounders like it's candy. For every Carrick Felix I could show you hundreds of others that are exactly the same. What I'm saying is from everything we've seen it appears that the Cavs really like Harris and are trying to keep him for cheap for a few years.

I don't understand why the Cavs giving Harris special treatment with his contract is then shown as me some how having homerism towards him.

Sorry, that did sound like I was busting on you. I was just pointing out how quickly things changed, because Felix seemed to fit the coach and the GM last summer and was given a similar contract. Next thing you know it is a Nationwide "life comes at you fast" commercial.

Cavs appear to like Harris and they seem to have good reason to like him. I think it is very possible that Harris would have been a first round pick if he had come out a year earlier. The level of talent in the 20-40 range in the last draft seems much higher than the year before. Harris looks like a good pickup. I hope he develops.

All good, man. As people around here get to know me better they'll see I approach things from a more analytical view rather than with homer colored glasses.

I want the kid to stay.

Sure Griffin likes him. He drafted him.

We have a surplus of shooting.

A team like Indiana or Milwuakee could use shooting. They have a surplus of rim protection.

He can be traded in the right scenario.

A surplus of shooting seems to be exactly what Griff was going for.

And even if they part with Joe they'd still have a surplus.

He's activetly looking for a rim protecter.

Which makes him expendable in the right situation.

I have been pleasantly surprised by Joe Harris. He is not great yet, but he looks to have the makings of a solid player once he gets used to the size and speed of the league. His shot is very quick and man he made one last night while a guy was flying right at him. He sniped it off super quick almost as soon as it hit his hands.

The other thing I like about him is that he is almost Delly like in his defense. He is aggressive and he is suprisingly good at moving laterally. He has a sort of crab walk where he kind of scoots/jumps sideways and is very effective at cutting guys off. Draftexpress said his athleticism was not very good, but I think he is at least average if not a little better.

He will probably play mostly garbage time this year, but his shot looks money and he has passed well and even put it on the floor a few times on hard close outs. Could be Dion's long term backup or a good sweetener in a trade down the road.

I have a real good feeling about Joe Harris.

Smart, heady player. Good mechanics on his jump shot. And he isn't afraid to take the open shot. He has shown to be able to finish through contact at times as well.

In college he showed a good amount of toughness and grit and I really think he may contribute to the team sooner than expected, almost in a way Troy Daniels had in Houston.

I don't see him as a Troy Daniels but having a guy like Mike Miller on the team could be great for his development.

Yeah veteran wally is a good comp. He has taken his shots and played hard on both ends. He hasn't lost the ball too much. Just the kind of rookie a team like this needs

His defense isn't that bad and we know he has potential to be a really good shooter and some one who in the future might work with LeBron

Kid can shoot. He's not intimidated by the league from I can see.

Nothing wrong having Mike Miller's possible replacement already on the roster.

It's amazing to see people agreeing with something I said 3 weeks ago after I caught all that hell for saying it. #Vindication.
