Johnny Manziel: Swan Won't Return His Calls

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The radio was on 92.3 when I left my house this AM. Kiley & Booms were doing "game plan Wednesday". Booms said we needed to worry about Mallett because "he's seen him play a lot" and that "he can run".

I changed the channel quickly after that.
I heard the same thing and thought to myself um did I miss something when Mallet played in college?

Can we start an RCF rally to get rid of him?

I've recently moved further out into the suburbs. When I was closer, I would listen to Mike & Mike on my way into work every day. With my new house, I don't get great reception from ESPN850 until I get on the highway, so I've been listening to 92.3 until I'm in range.... Booms could be the worst co-host in the history of the world. Kiley has to shrug half the stuff Booms says off like shows do when they get a shitty call. I feel bad for that guy.

Form a sports aspect, Kiley is generally pretty level headed in his analysis. The only reason I hate him is because he consistently belittles his non-sports related guests.

The guests are there to plug their cause and fill a ten minute time slot. They aren't their to get back handed compliments and straight up insulted.

It baffles me as to why 92.3 thought it would be a good idea to place a former college football commentator with an unsuccessful stand-up comedian (Booms) and call it a sports show.

The amount of value that show generates... is non-existent.

Seems to have worked out pretty well, honestly.

Given that you're all listening.

Some are.

I haven't listen to that abomination of a show in about a year and a half. Those two clowns don't know anything and it's generally unfunny.

4 people posting on a Cleveland sports fanatic website listen to a Cleveland sports radio show that's the only one on at the time? Well, that's a solid cross-section of the market....

I dislike purposefully misleading information to get a rise out of listeners, especially in a morning drive. I think morning drive sports talk should keep it light so employees don't roll into work pissed off. That can be achieved even when teams aren't performing well, if the AM guys have an actual sense of humor and actually understand the sports they cover.

Check out KNBR one of these days...granted their NBA knowledge is admittedly below average. I've totally stolen the concept of sports parody songs from the "non-sports guy" of Murph and Mac. Murphy is the golf guy for Yahoo sports, and after a tough loss from local teams he just focuses more on national ideas, like golf, tennis, or whatever.

This is not their first gig together. The 2 of them had a nationally syndicated show on the old Fox Sports Radio network. That eventually failed and a little while later they were brought here for AM drive because of Booms' tie to the city.

I'm more than aware they are on the radio and I'll tune in for 2-3 minute every so often. Invariably, I hear what Booms has to say and I change the channel quickly. The show is so over the top bad I can't see how anyone listens to it for more than a couple of minutes a few times a month. How can they have sustained ratings that keep them on the air?

Also, it was one thing for Channel 19 to have Booms on their pre game show last year. But it's a completely different story to know what you got last year and agree to put him on the air again this season. He really has no clue what he's talking about.

@AZ_ will tell you he doesn't crane his neck at dead roadkill when he drives his yellow base package Mini Cooper, but he's lying.

Your best option is not listening to the radio.

I'm gonna start donating Pandora premium subscriptions if I keep having to read this shit.
For whatever reason, I tune in for 5 minutes every morning to really piss myself off. Just get a nice fuming temper going.

At which point, the internal conflict commences: Will today finally be the day I call this son of a bitch and reduce him to ass?

100% of the time, without fail, the outcome is turning the station off.

I have always found that focusing on the displeasure of others rather than accuracy might get you more attention, but eventually you will be unemployed. Humor and accuracy requires more effort than trolling and contrarianism, but then again I've spent way too much time reading RCF.

You do understand this isn't their first radio show together right?

It's not like the alternative is any better. Rizzo has no clue about basketball. He seems to know what he's talking about with baseball (but I really don't watch, so he might be just as clueless). He has better football knowledge then basketball, but I don't think it's by a large margin. At least he actually does watch the games when it comes to the Browns.

His co host is also awful. Cherry constantly defends the player and always says at the same time this and that.

I don't think majority of people here understand how hard it is to talk for 3-4 hours, 5 days a week and not understand you're going to say something stupid. All while keeping people entertained.
