Josh Gordon discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
i hope the nfl doesn't dick around with the reinstating like they dicked around waiting to suspend him.

also, does anyone know how this suspension impacts his status moving forward under the new CBA drug testing rules?

ESPN said the NFL would have 60 days to make a decision.

Awesome. Now it's like we have 3 first round picks this year.

2. Goff
32a. BPA
32b: Gordon

That dog'll hunt!

I have zero faith he won't fuck up again. Unless they're allowed to use marijuna, I see no way he's suddenly changed.

Question is...in his mind, what's the difference between this last suspension and the next one? What's changed?

I may be wrong but aren't the players in cases like him subjected to ~10 random tests/month? I'd like to think if that's the case maybe he has proven he's getting his ish together.

But we don't know which day he applied, we only found out about it yesterday.

The 60 day clock could have started a month ago for all we know. It's a highly classified process.

I am thinking its something like this as well.

That would be a good sign for sure.

He's going to have to show the NFL a string of negative results that shows he's been on track.

For Gordon to be reinstated, he will have to demonstrate sustained abstinence during his suspension.

"In support of their applications, players generally put forward verifiable testing records and/or submit to periodic NFL testing during the banishment period," league spokesman Greg Aiello said in an email.

Gordon also will be interviewed by the league's medical director and medical adviser, who will make a recommendation to Goodell on Gordon's reinstatement.

For one, his last suspension was because he had a drink on a plane to vegas, which is bullshit.

2nd, last time he failed for weed it wouldnt count under the current cba.

So allot has changed.

He failed under the old cba but ended up getting punished under the new CBA rules. IIRC, he was supposed to be suspended indefinitely after his last failed test. Got it knocked down to 10(?) games under the new rules, then got suspended indefinitely after he fucked up by not knowing the end of the league year. This is all based on my memory and not from any actual research.

If he fails again, he deserves to work at Wendy's.

You are a top talent/freak of nature athlete and you can't stop smoking for millions of dollars.

I am going to think high of him here and think he has been doing lots of work over the suspension and I think with Hue here, he will keep his head straight.

Perfect target for Goff right off the bat.

Thats my point, they weed test failed under the old rules, but happened 2 weeks before the end of the season. The drink happened when Goddell sent someone to vegas to "random" drink test him. He cant drink either because of the dui he plead guilty to.

He has made some dumb mistakes for sure, but some of how the league operates is just pure crap.
