JR Smith

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
JR continues to be a feel good story for me. I don't care that he punched Jae Crowder -- be honest, didn't you want to? I think he's a key piece for us.

The whole 'run through a wall' story in the PD was nice, although there's not much new in it:

I never saw it as a true punch. It ended up that way and the 2 game was justified, but Crowder plays hard and with allot of energy, allot like Deladova. JR felt him going onto his back and was giving him the ole elbow which is an old school move. The issue is Crowder moved back a bit and the elbow turned into a closed fist punch.

In the end JR was fighting, and fighting for a rebound, not just trying to score or shoot, and i will take an aggressive foul like that from JR any day of the week.

Actually I hated the punch when it happened and I still hate it now. It was uncalled for and doesn't belong in this league. I was disappointed in JR because he had been perfectly behaved since he got here.

But it doesn't matter now, and all is forgiven. I'm glad to have JR as a part of this team. He's incredibly important for us, and his role should increase in the beginning of next season with Kyrie and Shumpert hurt. I can't wait to watch him in action again.

I find those things go hand in hand. It's a little like Bullies. They are the most sensitive and hate being picked on. Garnett comes to mind.

Look at Trump. A few criticisms and hard questions and Fox New is picking on him. Lol.

Garnett is not a good example,
a good example imo is Cousins, I think he is hot headed but sensitive and nice outside of basketball.

Now he needs to take that next step in the playoffs.....the one where he doesn't soil himself when we need him to make shots in the finals.

Considering how fantastically he played in the ECF -- he was the second best player on the team -- I'm not sure you can ascribe his Finals performance to choking. Some combination of having no help, the Warriors defense, and just shots not falling.

The warriors defense really picked up after game 3. They gave our shooters a lot more trouble. Klay is a good defender and gave as good as he got in that respect.

The minutes those guys played, I think fatigue on the Cavs part was an under reported issue.

Yeah. Golden State was all over him in the finals. They were treating him like prime Ray Allen in terms of how close they stuck to him. They just sent traps elsewhere and tired to force Thompson, Moz, and Delly to be the guys we relied on to put up consistent points once they sent another defender at LeBron. Smith not only was contested regularly, they practiced heavy ball denial aainst him which is something I'm sure he's not used to at all.

We really had no other offensive threat from any distance once Kyrie went down. If Lebron was going to play an inside-out game it would be JR getting those passes. (Yes Delly can hit a wiiiidddeee open shot from 3 but you don't have to plan very much to stop that).

I know. Especially with Shumpert hobbled, we were stuck between a rock and a hand place offensively. Even though we managed to do the best job by far of any team throughout the entire season of messing up Golden State's rhythm and playing them tough defensively, we didn't have enough firepower to match even one or two big GS outbursts which are inevitable regardless of how well you defend. If we had our primary offensive quick-strike ability on the floor instead of in suits we would have walked away with the Larry O Brien. Talking heads now like to forget just how befuddled the "great Warriors" looked for a good portion of time against basically an exhausted LBJ and Dellavedova handling the ball and setting the offense up every possession.

Who the hell lets their kid wear a Warriors shirt to the Cavs scrimmage? It only makes it worse they just beat us in the finals... They shouldn't have let that punk in the arena
