JR Smith

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Dion in 33 games with the Cavs had four 20+ point games. In those games, he shot 53.5% from the field.

In 7 games for the Cavs so far, J.R. Smith already has three 20+ point games shooting 52.8% from the field in those games. Oh and J.R. has scored 29 and 27, which are both higher than Dion's season-high.

Don't forget, we still have Shumpert to add to the mix. After all, he was the reason we made the deal, not Smith. Looks like we won the trade to me.

This dude will throw up an occasional bad shot, but I'm really liking how the offense flows with him in the game, and his defense isn't bad.

Although a small sample, he is a CLEAR upgrade over Dion- in fact I don't see an area that Dion was better.

And the best part is the reason they made the trade hasn't played yet.

Right. I can live with the occasionally bad shot as long as he's not pounding the ball, and JR rarely does that.

Apparently JR and Mozgov were teammates briefly after Mozzy got traded to DEN from the Knicks at the end of '10-11. But seeing as Moz only scored 28 pts there that season, they prob barely saw the court together. Had no idea.

We definitely need to pick up Dalembert and Prignoni. That would be a delightful way to a win title with a playing roster that is 50% ex-Knicks

If he keeps playing like this he might choose not to exercise that option this off-season. Lucky for us he is playing like the 6th man of the year version and not the knucklehead version. It also means he might need to get paid though.

Here's a good one for you guys..

As a Cav this season:

Dion: 33 G, 22 3PTm (86 3PTa), four 20pt games, one double digit FGm game
J.R.: 8 G, 22 3PTm (62 3PT a), three 20pt games, two double digit FGm games

Dion: 33 G, 22 3PTm (86 3PTa), four 20pt games, one double digit FGm game
J.R.: 9 G, 29 3PTm (73 3PTa), four 20pt games, two double digit FGm games

-Four 20pt games for Smith in 9 games as a Cav, Dion had four in his last 36 games as a Cav.

-Smith has five games with at least three 3 point makes as a Cav, Dion had five such games in his last 48 games as a Cav.

-Smith has three games with at least five 3 point makes. Dion had one in his entire tenure here.

Trade day there were two types of posts about Smith.

"Why did we have to take in JR Smith omg hes a cancer, Griffin is a horrible GM."

Or

"Hes pretty much the same player as Dion but worse."

Now 9 games in all you can do is love him. Dude has done his job since game one. Its been said in almost every game i watched that he played in. About how he could so great if he focused. Well this is who they were talking about.
