Problem with Kevin Love sacrificing so much is that if he doesn't contribute highly, his defense pretty much negates every good thing he does.

Love has been having trouble with that right hand. He was wearing a wrap on it in practice a few days ago after hurting it in a game (tangled up in an opponent's jersey). And then tonight went to the locker room to get it looked at before coming back in. It was unclear if any of the injuries are related, but he's never had great luck with that hand (he broke it a couple times earlier in his career).

That would explain a great many things.

Plus he's been sick. Rough week for Love. We should all chip in and send him a basket with all the finest meats and cheeses. Something classy, with fancy sauces.

I avoid this thread, but I don't get the Love hate.

He is averaging 17 pts and 10.5 boards, shooting 44 and 36, both will come up a bit when more comfortable.

And yes he isn't a good defender, but people forget that even when playing bad he is a good spacer, rebounder, and passing big.

Some people.

Why do you suppose more players don't go and shoot hoops for 45 minutes immediately after the game?

Here's Windhorst talking about it on his podcast. He said it's a message: http://stationcaster.com/player_skinned.php?s=70&c=18273&f=3770033

He says other NBA executives thought it was weird too. They thought he was undermining the coaching staff. I don't think the message was to the coaching staff. But maybe the executives are wrong. Maybe it wasn't a message. Maybe Windhorst is wrong.

edit: Hopefully your main point is correct and if the Cavs continue rolling all the other stuff will fade away. That's usually what happens when a team keeps winning.

Bro, FYI.. Windy makes stuff up. Just sayin'.

I dunno why I bothered listening to this nonsense. Windhorst said, in essence, he wouldn't be surprised if we'd be talking about LeBron coaching Kyrie after the game 3 months from now (alluding to Blatt being fired).

The guy is a joke. Blatt isn't going anywhere.

Exactly. All you can hope is he improves the effort on the defensive end. He will never be a Tim Duncan or KG defensively. The key is to have a proper rim-protector alongside him who could do the defensive work and not worry much about the offense except dunking in the lobbed passes. Similar to what Tyson Chandler did for that Mavs team and does now.

Prince Oberyn is right.

I would be pleased with Mozgov, KK or Biyombo.

I bet Love will get 4-6 more points per game and 2-3 more rebounds a game when AV is out.

I am not sure about that. Andy was not taking a whole lot of shots, and TT is a decent rebounder too. The reason Love's rebounds are down are because of two reasons. Lebron (and others) are great rebounders for the position, so its not just the center, and we have been using Love to space more than in Minny, so he isn't under the rim quite as much.

He was contesting last night which was good to see. Scrapping in the paint. If he keeps this level of effort up, he could learn to be effective on that end.

I am not dreaming of a rim protector. I am dreaming of him finally learning to play fundamental d. Love had a target on his back and needs to at least play average d, especially come playoffs.

Love is going to get more touches with Andy out. Time for him to show what he is all about. I'm looking forward to it.
