Found an interesting article. This is not the first time Love has had this procedure done on that knee.

Same doctor that did it last time, I believe. That article right said, it's a 4-6 week timeframe. He had it done in April 2013 and the Wolves weren't in the playoffs.

Love knows exactly what to expect, how to rehab it, and the timeframe of the injury. He's probably been playing with this since December. I think it was a strategical decision by Love to try and make himself 100% for the playoffs, rather than battling a sore knee until the summer and potentially worsening it.

So the fact that he had the knee cleaned out before , IMO, is a good sign.
Agree pretty good result. Loose fragments so no indication of a long term structural issue. Will be back before the playoffs and our first two rounds should be Cakewalk's to get him back into shape

Good news. The team training staff thinks Kevin's knee injury was a contact injury, and can be traced back to banging knees in the Washington game:
Now we know that the Cavs’ training staff believes they traced Love’s initial injury back to the game at Washington on Feb. 6 when he banged knees with another player. And the first time Love felt something in the knee was as he was leaving the shower following the game against Denver on Feb. 11. He had the training staff look at it and went for an MRI the next day.

My dog died. Good news. It was was traced back to cancer.

I'm going out on a limb here, but maybe it's preferable, perception wise, to be injured by contact instead of just jumping or cutting or something?

That's right. This is a different story if Kevin tore a ligament trying to cut or similar non-contact trauma. I find that to be good news.

Also, does anyone know what the "loose body" was? Bone, cartilage, etc.,?

I'll take 6 weeks but I'm hoping that was a conservative number and we see him back in like 4. Not that we need to rush him back, mind you, but because it'd be great to have him comfortably re-acclimated before the playoffs begin.

In truth the surgery might be a blessing in disguise as it allows Love to rest and heal up before coming back fresh and rejuvenated for the stretch run.

Agreed. As long as Lue doesn't try to compensate for it by running Lebron into the ground to win games.
