Since Love himself has the option of leaving the team at season end for no compensation, thereby putting the James project at risk, it would be malpractice if Griffin does not assess trade options prior to the deadline.
It should also be noted that should Love opt out and go elsewhere, this scenario bears the possibility of creating one of the worst trades in the history of the NBA: 'Stepien' level.
The viability of offers received by the team prior to the trade deadline should determine the possibility of trading Love, not the feelings of fans of the team.
Sorry, its not going to happen. Thankfully the players, coaches, and front office understand the big picture and our not having the meltdown we're having on the board.
Why, after seeing firsthand just how hard it is for a new team to gel, is Kevin Love going to leave, take less money, and join a brand new team for a second straight year?
Look at the teams who would have cap room to sign him, they are devoid of NBA talent and other stars. You think Love is going to bolt here to go play for the Knicks, Lakers, Philly, or Boston?
