I LOVED that early play where Kevin sealed West on the low block and got a post touch and score. I think it was very early in the game.

Why we don't go to that all the time is beyond me. Love is a great passer, he's not a black hole type of guy - and he historically has been great at drawing fouls.

It's not that hard to incorporate this guy more and it would make us a more dangerous team.

Truthfully, if I were Love, I would be pissed. 9 shots in 39 minutes for a guy who is supposed to be our third superstar is unacceptable, especially considering he took 4 in the first quarter and then predictably we ignored him the rest of the game and he only got 5 more shots through the final 3 quarters.

I watch Love and his movement throughout the game. I can't even count how many times I've seen Love in prime postup position and then Kyrie and Lebron just ignore him and go ISO instead.

This guy has proven he can score! Last year he put up 26 ppg on 59% TS! Give him the damn ball and let him go to work once in a while! This guy is good at putting the ball through the hoop!

I swear this team acts like Love is the little kid who asks to play in a pickup game with you who you only pass to to make him happy, but have no faith in his ability to score.

I completely understand the concern of Kevin Love looking like he's not having fun at times. I've recognize it too. I just watch his postgame interviews and get bummed out. Like, he just seems like he's zoned out. Even after a win, something feels off. Case in point, tonight:

Tonight, however, I thought I'd see what a postgame video for Kevin Love looked like when he was still with Minny. He relished being the #1 guy and scoring big points and was happy right?

This was the first video I found...

He put up 39 points and 11 rebounds in a 15 point loss and I've never seen a more depressing interview. Like this is a "Hey, Kev do the 'Wolves supply you guys with therapy?' vibe-giving interview. Could be because of the dramatic lighting... but man! That is not a happy camper.

Playoff atmosphere/competition will do wonders for him. Hope to have our seed set early so we can rest Kev a game or two before playoffs. I have a good feeling about what he'll bring to the table.

I've always thought that winning will be all that matters to kevin, this season. Over time he will start to get more focussed on his own stats etc..its what happens once winning loses its novelty. Next season the cavs will have ot strongly consider how to feature him in a more variety of ways.

One thing love can go back to doing is using the dribble when he gets closed on. He throws the up fake the guy closes hard, he needs to use a dribble then either shoot or pass and move. He did it foracouple of games thenhe stopped early in the season

I agree Love will probably stay for another year unless the Cav fizzle in the playoffs, but he will want his stats too. In case anybody missed this Love quote from last December (link):
Kevin Love Has A Great Explanation For Why The NBA Shouldn't Have A Shorter Season

"I always am a guy who looks back at some of the all-time greats. They went through [82 games]. When you compare — look at a guy like Kevin Durant. If he doesn’t have 82 games, will he ever be able to surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the all-time scoring list?"

I'm highly doubt he cares that much about Kevin Durant's stats, when his career is over he wants to see how he compares to the all-time greats. He won't be happy playing third fiddle for the rest of his career. Remember he also said,

"I heard some people calling me that but I know I’m not a stretch-four. I’m a post player that can shoot. Right now I’m just doing what I’m called to do. For good, bad or indifferent, I’m playing my role and doing what’s asked of me. Tonight, I stayed out on the perimeter."

That is as politically incorrect as you can get from a guy like Kevin Love. He is not happy with his role. He'll want a couple of finals and a ring or two to make up for it at least, and even then he'll want to get more involved in the offense. It's not too late, but it is getting there.

Love is a huge liability in the 4th quarter. I feel like any time he makes a shot in the 4th, it's a small miracle.

Cavs players with the highest net ratings (offensive rating - defensive rating) in the Pacers game.

Delly +82 (195/113)
Smith +21 (131/110)
Love +14 (118/104)
.
LeBron -04 (105/109)
Irving -22 (092/114)

One of our Big 3 had a pretty tough night last night, on both ends of the floor.

Thankfully, no one seems to be rushing to the Kyrie Irving thread to call Kyrie out after we won. Tough games happen, but the team got through it and I'm sure Kyrie will learn from it.

Is it too much for Cavs fans to expect Love to be treated similarly?

Well, you've got to admit. Doesn't sound much like a guy who wants to leave that kind of situation, does it?

Also encouraging to see Lebron waiting in background while Kevin was being interviewed to make their exit together.

Such a strange year. All I know is we're better with him, and he's playing hard.

If I had to guess I think Lebron has schooled Kevin on givng absolutely nothing away. Not to media. Not to ownership. Never let them know what you're thinking.

When you read between the lines of all the talk last year about Lebron's feelings on Spoelstra, Riley's dictates, coaching, team values and the players union, I keep getting the sense that all of them are playing everything close to the vest. They do the interviews that are necessary, but never give an ounce of insight into their thoughts. Always pleasant but guarded.

I really think the media is in the total dark and guessing every morsel of their stories. If they won't give you anything, you have to make it up. Your entire existence is about having something to report. We have no idea won't do even if true.

I think a rift occurred over the last deal which angered the players far more than even reported. I don't think its really personal between Blatt and his players. I think they like him probably as a man, but he's management. I think Lebron formed his opinion long before Blatt was even in the league.

I think Lebron simply is in cold war mode until the next labor agreement and is able to engender his teammates to adopt the same philosophy. We'll play, we'll do our best, but generally locking out management and the entire media establishment that they are enriching until the time comes when they get a fair deal.

That's the only thing that makes sense to me when you really listen. Every guy interviewed has the same feel. Polite, pleasant, say the right thing, but a strong sense that they are not at all going to give you a glimpse into their mindset.

The media has just been laughably wrong on so much that they can't have real sources. And management looks shook also, like they don't exactly know where they stand. I think the players are keeping the entire establishment uneasy intentionally. I'm never a conspiracy theorist, but guys who are generally viewed as inner circle media have been just way way wrong repeatedly, and I can't think of a logical reason for that other than its by design by the players.

Basically the only guys who haven't embarassed themselves are the Wojs of the world who report on transactions.

When anything calls for speculation, the top of the field has looked like fools the last few years. And it coincided with teams starting to sell for billions and players realizing they got fucked. I don't think that's coincidence. The media was viewed by the players as carrying GM and owners water and are paying for it now.

When they speculate, it's an exercise in masturbation and guesswork amongst themselves. They have no idea what any of these guys are thinking.

This is just a labor dispute playing out under the surface while the games are still going on. And the players view media as pawns of ownership, and they are on lockdown. Love could be thrilled with life. Love could be miserable. They could like Blatt a ton, or think him an idiot. Either way, they're not telling a soul.

Just my opinion.

Maybe that's because we only give him the ball in the first quarter and then ignore him up the rest of the game until we expect him to hit a 3 in the 4th for us, which leaves him out of rhythm. Plus, I hardly remember us ever getting him the ball in the post in the 4th quarter.

NBA is big business, and big business hates unions. LeBron taking the VP for the Player's Association is going to get him a lot of astroturf hate, in the media and from the NBA company men. Your comments are very insightful in that regard.
