I don't think Love will be as important for this team until the playoffs start. Then teams will have to pick their poison and Love will have 40 point nights. Like others have said, he's just figuring out where he'll get his shots. This is the most defense i've ever seen Love play in his whole career.

yeah, but you can't wait until the playoffs to develop that role...

That role has already been developed. He was the go-to-guy his whole career in Minnesota.

Realistically, our top 4 guys are all capable of going off for 30+ on their best nights. That is very scary for opposing teams. The important thing is for each player to play within the system, not worrying about the amount of touches they receive.

Come playoff time, it is truly going to be tough for teams to develop game plans on defense. IMO, that is where you might begin to see breakout games from both Love and Waiters. It's truly a pick your poison situation. You could argue that Lebron and KI are two of the best one-on-one players in the league offensively. They will be doubled teamed quite a bit allowing for someone to get open looks all day, even in the playoffs when the defensive intensity is turned up a notch.

This was never case for The Heat. Teams really didn't worry about Wade and Bosh, in regards to their shooting ability, until Bosh started draining threes on a regular basis. You rarely saw Bosh double-teamed the last four years. Wade never drew much defensive attention unless he was driving.

The Cavs are afforded the luxury of having 4 guys who can all stroke it from deep, allowing for a ton of mismatches to be created on the floor all over the place immediately. Coupled with Blatt's offensive prowess, the sky is the limit offensively for us this year, regardless of who is putting up the most points.

While he deferred a lot, you did see how easy he makes it for people. With Love and AV and Marion, Lebron and the guards didn't even have to crash boards. It even allowed TT to actually not have to crash boards and get down the court, something he hasn't been able to do in his whole career. Love could've scored no points and I would've been cool because the teams pace with him in VS him out was a crazy difference. When Love rebounds the ball most the time the ball is getting to half court. That is gonna eliminate teams using full court press on us completely, and if we are in shape it will flat out tire defenses out. A lot of defenders are gonna basically quit after missed shots because they aren't gonna want to run full sprint to the basket to stop Lebron and Waiters. Expect way more fouls against us this year directly because of Love. People are gonna compare us to Miami all year but we will be a way higher paced team than Miami ever was because of Love.

and hey you never know.....maybe our other bigs learn how to pass like Love off rebounds and we become unstoppable.

I thought Kyrie would be the odd man out offensively but he really looked like he had control of the team. We'll have to see if Love is fine with how he played last game or not. Love deferring also allowed Waiters to get his shots up. So imo id be fine if love was the 3rd option. because that means hes allowed Kyrie and Waiters to fire it up and imo Waiters is a star too but him keeping his shots up will definitely feed his ego in a good way, and we'll get an unstoppable waiters.

I don't feel that at all. Did you even watch yesterday's game? He seemed almost too passive...he seems to be trying to rebuild himself into a role player and play within the offense.

I was not able to watch the game, but if Love's past behavior is a precursor of anything that might happen, it wouldn't surprise me at all. I'm not saying he has done anything wrong since he came to Cleveland. I'm hopeful he will continue to say the right things and play the right way.

Let's not forget, when projecting shots, that we'll be playing at a much faster pace than probably ever before.

Plus more 2nd chance opportunities than most teams. I bet we lead the league in possessions per game.

Right. I'd say that the Cavs team of this season will be as close to the unrealistic aspects of a 2K video game as replicated by a real life team. That quick basket 4-6 seconds into the shot clock will become a staple part of our offense.

Watched Love's post game. He legitimately seems like he doesn't care what he does as long as we are winning. Either that or he feels like he has made a terrible mistake. Can't get a read on this guy.

You can't be serious... Made a terrible mistake by joining a team that is a championship contender, while still putting up all-star numbers and getting a max contract.... I forgot, he could be in that shit hole in Minny.

I just meant the guy is very chill and even keeled. Settle.

Well the truth is the guy has never had this kind of craziness around him in the NBA. He came from a shitty team in a shitty place. I bet he's just trying to deal with the pressure his own way, and not do too much too soon.

Probably right. Just trying to fit in. Seems like a good guy. This team has so much talent.

Oh Bosh, first, the attention seeking and "hey remember me, I exist is beyond transparent"

Second, Love is such a better natural fit next to LeBron in year one than Bosh was. Already an elite 3 point shooter(both in percentage and volume) for his position. A better rebounder(both offensively and defensively) than Bosh. Those to factors alone will boost his PPG by 4-6 PPG over what he would normally get in whatever the flow of our offense will be.

Third, the pacing, tempo, and passing of our offense should be ahead of Miami's 2011-2014 offense, so while Love's stats may dip from last years gaudy numbers, I don't think they'll dip under 20.

Lastly, Love himself will be the one who determines if any of that is a "problem" for him, not jealous lover Chris Bosh.
