are we gonna need a thread defining what constitutes hero ball,

Any shot that is taken in a game that we do not win by 20 against a bad team / lose to a good team, that does not go in by either Kyrie or Dion.

Thats my best guess as to what the kneejerk reaction will be =p

Kevin Love is on another level than Chris Bosh. There will be games where Kevin simply dominates, putting up 35/15, scoring inside and out. When was the last time you saw Bosh dominate in a Heat game? He is the prototypical third wheel. Bosh is a top 25 player in this league, Love is top 8. Even in games where Love is quiet offensively, his rebounding, passing and offensive spacing he provides will all be difference makers. Bosh is solid in all areas but not really great at anything.

Bosh is a great scorer and a great shooter. He just had far fewer opportunities to do both in Miami. He's also a very good rebounder.

He should have a pretty solid year this year, with an uptick in just about every stat. Something like 19ppg, 9rpg on 50%+ with a far bigger role on offense.

People are getting lost in the decreased stats with Bosh.

Simple fact is that Love, James and Irving all have made enough money to set themselves and their great grandkids up for life. Now its about winning titles. I have to think these three understand that this opportunity rarely happens. Lebrons the greatest player of his generation, Love is a top 10 and KI could be the best point guard in the league in the next few years. They are smart enough, I hope, to not let ego get in the way of greatness.

I'm sure they didn't need told, but you can pretty much guarantee that Bron told Kevin and Kyrie that not only will they get paid out of their minds (including the endorsements that will come with higher visibility), but also that to be a main part of the team that wins Clevelands first starved title in over half a century will make them basketball gods and basically a shoo-in for the Hall of Fame.

Basically, playing here checks all the career boxes for all three of them. They'll sort it out and make it work.

So we're supposed to be impressed with those projected stats for Bosh when he's the #1 option on Miami? When it's likely Love would far surpass those numbers in this big 3 in Cleveland (let alone how much he surpassed them as the #1 in Minny)?

And Bosh being a "very good rebounder" is certainly up for debate. Miami was a terrible rebounding team (so there were plenty of opportunities for him), and yet he averaged less than SEVEN rebounds per game the past 2 seasons.

Whole lot of baseless speculation in this.

Facts:

-Love has stated numerous times that he just wants to win, even going as far as saying he would sweep floors for a championship.

-It's the preseason & we're still getting the kinks out on the offensive side of the ball.. learning the system, getting used to playing with each other, and making adjustments will only help in getting all the kinks worked out.

-Winning cures a lot of things.

-With this offense, the same guy won't lead in shot attempts every game. Some days it'll be LeBron, some days Love, some days Kyrie. Adjustments need to be made, but when we're racking up the wins, it makes the guys play looser, buy into the system, and keep playing smart, winning basketball.

While I agree with this, teamcanada has a point. If you watch the tape of the preseason, you can see that Love tends to call for the ball a lot when he is open, especially on the perimeter and would put them down when he din't get the ball, sometimes running back shaking he's head. Now he has gotten better as the preseason has went by, to where he now just goes inside for the rebound once the shot goes up.

My point is Bosh, rarely if ever did this. In fact, I don't think he has ever displayed negative body language on the court unless he was the one making the error or just to yell at Mario Chalmers.

We'll see how things go, but Lebron being on the court more should def help.

What does Bosh have to do with Love in relation to my post? I didn't say anything about him.

Until he came to Miami, he hovered around 10rpg. That qualifies as a very good rebounder. He also hung out on the perimeter on offense so offensive rebounds haven't been much of an option. Would you claim that a career 9rpg doesn't make for a very good rebounder?

19/9 over a career with several titles will put players in the HOF, first option or not.

There's currently probably 4-5 guys exceeding those numbers on a regular basis.

It's also arguable whether Bosh will be the first option or not. The first option will be Wade if he's healthy and Deng and Bosh will likely be comparable as option 2 from game to game.

Seriously? Is there no comparison between the two, or relation to Love? Am I in the wrong thread even though this says it's the Kevin Love thread? :chuckle:

"In relation to my post"

It's right there for you.

Again I ask...what does Love have to do with Bosh in relation to my post?

And what about the rest of my post? Did you make it to them?

Bosh has been brought up this entire conversation in relation to Love. That's right there for you (you know, in the Kevin Love thread).

Bosh is an all-star caliber player still, and I'm not denying that. It seems a large majority of people are acknowledging he's a very good player (except for 1 or 2 random dissenting posters, which there always will be), and some posters are defending Love against the guys who seem to be anti-Love. So I guess it's hard to put your post in context since it's not obvious who you're talking to (everyone? 1 person? if so, who?), especially without you quoting someone.

So yes, it's not out-of-this-world crazy to assume that there was SOME relation to Love. Again, being his thread and all. Sorry for my horrible mistake. :chuckle:

Bottom line...

Kevin Love sucks.

The Cavs will figure out a way to utilize Love and take advantage of his strengths. He's the second most impactful player on the roster. He's a mediocre defender, but he's a better fit than Bosh.
