Klay Thompson suffers concussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
14 days = game time decision for Game 4. If you're comparing Klay's situation to Miller's as a way to say he won't miss any time, you're doing it wrong.

hmm, well Miller is older and that was the reg season. I was not comparing the two, I was just pointing that out. I doubt Klay will miss time.

One issue with concussions is sensitivity to light.

Probably about time to change the light bulbs in the Q eh? :chuckle:

We need more wattage.

Mike Miller returned to play within 2 weeks. doubt klay will miss time.. its the finals dude.
Remember though, it's not a matter of "gutting it out". Klay will have to go through tests and the team will have to follow the league's concussion protocol. It's possible he could "fake" his way through the test to some degree, but if he's really suffering the effects of symptoms it's going to be difficult.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Klay misses one or more games... I also wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't miss any games. Concussions can be unpredictable, and vary dramatically from person to person (or even from concussion to concussion).

One sharp elbow to the noggin and Thompson misses the whole series.
Imagine if Delly is going for a loose ball and accidentally hits Thompson in the head.

Golden State botches concussion protocol. Media reaction:
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If Cavs had botched concussion protocol:
Fire Blatt
Fire the training staff
Unprofessional pricks
*rabblerabblerabble* Delly did it!

Heh, I don't remember who, but someone in the media was saying of course Curry was ok ... no way the Warriors would risk the health of their MVP.

But then all of TNT was jumping down the Cavs throat for playing Kyrie even though he'd already come back and played with the injury multiple times, without consideration for the medical report which said he wasn't at risk for further injury, and without knowledge that Delly was sick.

You can't stop the narrative. You can only point and laugh.

I've been thinking more and more that we are our own worst enemy. We're so fervent in our support for our team, our level of interest is so high, we're simply easy pickings.

Pick on the Knicks, and Knicks fans would probably *yawn* and agree.

Pick on the Cavaliers, and the Cavs army will march and increase your viewership, your page views, your ad clicks, etc, etc. We're a veritable gold mine in the internet age of media.

Maybe Chris can be the pied piper of the resistance. It should be good for his page views. :)

Curry came out with 5:52 left in the second quarter and came back in with 5:58 left in the third. Combined with half time, that is a lot of time. Also, lol at people using his air ball as a reason he was concussed, he sat for a long time and wasn't able to warm up. He still made plays with his passes too. Once he got a few shots up and got back in the flow of the game, he started making more shots and played decent.

If I hear one more person talk about bumping his head so he was concussed... You can bump your head and not get a concussion. Concussions are caused by your brain hitting your skull not your hitting your head. Curry also didn't display any symptoms like Klay did so it's not as bad that he played

Klays was worse. He took a legit mma knee to his temple and they originally reported he wasn't checked for a concussion. He might have had a laceration so I'm going to hold that against the Warriors. Klay did end up throwing up multiple times, and couldn't drive home. Now that is a bad look.

I wonder if all of these loser Cleveland/Lebron haters want to move up the series now? Nope...only when Kyrie was injured did they wanna do that. Now that Curry and Thompson suffered injuries there is no way they would want to move the series up now.

Let's also remember that we're talking about a concussion that was severe enough to cause bleeding from the ear. That's not a mild one you get over in a couple of days.

If it was an ear laceration than nah.

Regarding these bleeding ear posts...

If that blood was from his brain, that boy would be dead. That had to have been a gash inside his ear from the contact. I'm not sure the bloody ear would be a big factor in concussion protocol.

That's more a question than an answer. I can't fathom someone bleeding from the brain as a result of impact to the head and not dying or needing emergency surgery.

Look up "Post-concussion Syndrome". Not only can the after-effects linger for weelks, but the victim becomes more prone to another concussion, and increasingly so thereafter. Many of us will remember that is why Brian Sipe had to retire.

Yeah, isn't bleeding out the ear with damage to the brain a brain haemorrhage? Doesn't that mean he could have internal brain bleeding and have to get drained? He caught one of these in the ear, I'm pretty sure it was from a cut in his ear:
